Good news for long-term The Office die-hards: its sequel, set around 20 years later, is back on TV within weeks.

If you thought you were done with reruns of The Office, think again. The spin-off, The Paper, is about to hit Peacock with its second season very soon, and yes, they're dropping all the new episodes in one go. Practically designed for a binge-watching weekend, honestly.

The Paper returns for its sophomore run on 9 September 2026, with every episode of season 2 available to stream immediately.

So, Where Did We Leave Off?

Set two decades after the misadventures of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch, The Paper follows that same mockumentary camera crew as they embed themselves at the rather less glamorous Toledo Truth Teller, a crumbling old newspaper in the American Midwest. This is no slick media job—think threadbare carpets, reluctant optimists, and a constant fear the whole thing could fold by Thursday drinks.

Domhnall Gleeson returns in the lead as the eternally-hopeful editor-in-chief, backed up by a ragtag bunch of journalists and assorted staff, some of whom absolutely should not be trusted near deadlines. If you like your office chaos with a dose of good intentions, you'll feel right at home.

Who’s Back in the Cast?

Fortunately, nearly all the main faces from season one are sticking around for round two. Alongside Gleeson, you've got Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr., and, injecting a bit of original series DNA, Oscar Nuñez, reprising his old The Office character. Apparently, the crossover isn’t just a gimmick; he genuinely fits into this new disaster zone of a newsroom.

Ratings: Better with Critics, Not the Crowd

Here's where things get a bit odd. On the critical front, The Paper is actually edging out its famous parent. It’s sitting pretty at an 85% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes, a few points higher than The Office ever managed (81%). That being said, the audience numbers paint a different picture: 70% for The Paper’s Popcornmeter compared to a hefty 89% for The Office. So, plenty of room for it to grow—or just keep bumbling along, which would be entirely on brand for either workplace.
