Spider-Man: Brand New Day Runtime Revealed — How Long Is Tom Holland’s Next MCU Adventure?
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, aka Spider-Man 4, just had its runtime seemingly locked in as Tom Holland swings back into US theaters next month — Marvel and Sony’s next MCU chapter lands in July.
Right, so it looks like we finally know how long you’ll be sat in the cinema for the next Spider-Man film—and, unsurprisingly, you might want to spring for the extra-large popcorn this time.
Spider-Man's New Era (and Yes, Another Record)
Marvel and Sony’s next swing at Peter Parker, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'—which everyone’s already calling Spider-Man 4, because who can keep track anymore?—lands in the US at the end of July. This one’s being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (the bloke behind 'Shang-Chi' and apparently the upcoming 'Wonder Man'), and as expected, Tom Holland’s back for more.
There’s been a bit of a whisper campaign about how long this thing would be. Last week, early reports tipped it to be two and a half hours, which isn’t nothing. Now AMC Theatres, probably by accident, have popped the actual time on their site—an oddly precise 150 minutes.
If you’re a numbers person, here’s how it stacks up against the others:
- Spider-Man: Brand New Day – 150 minutes (allegedly locked in)
- No Way Home – 148 minutes (so Brand New Day just edges it)
- Homecoming – 133 minutes
- Far From Home – 129 minutes
Where Are We Picking Up the Web?
Marvel’s official plot blurb lets on that Brand New Day is rolling out a proper fresh start. Four years have apparently passed since the utter chaos of No Way Home, and Peter’s knocking about New York as a full-on adult—completely solo, and no one even remembers who he is (that spell’s clearly still holding). He’s basically gone full caped workaholic, chucking himself into Spider-Man duties. Only now the job’s doing his head in: the stress is evidently triggering some bizarre physical changes. On top of all that, a new crime wave kicks up—one nasty enough to put him up against one of the deadliest threats he’s ever had to face.
Here’s the studio’s official synopsis, if you fancy the straight-up version:
'After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he's devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.'
Not exactly light and breezy stuff, which probably explains the extra runtime.
Dates and Credits
Brand New Day’s hitting cinemas on 31 July 2026—so, not exactly around the corner. All this was first flagged up by Brandon Schreur at SuperHeroHype, for those keeping score.
