After tearing through theaters last month, the horror-comedy sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is racing to digital—here’s when you can watch at home.

Remember that buzzy horror-comedy Ready or Not from a few years back—the one where Samara Weaving spent her wedding night dodging lethal in-laws? Well, the team behind it (directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, along with Weaving herself) finally dropped the sequel, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, in theaters this March. If you blinked and missed its theatrical run (or just want to watch people get hunted in formalwear from the comfort of your couch), here’s the good news: the digital release is right around the corner.

Ready or Not 2: Digital and Physical Release Dates

Mark your calendars: May 5th is when Ready or Not 2: Here I Come hits digital platforms. If you’re old-school and actually want a disc, the Blu-ray and DVD versions drop on June 16th. And yes, both come loaded with enough bonus features to keep any horror fan busy for hours.

The Plot Thickens—Literally

The original Ready or Not (in case you need a refresher) was all about Samara Weaving’s Grace, who married into a wealthy, totally unhinged family with a seriously dangerous idea of ‘tradition.’ The wedding night devolves into a ‘fun little’ murder game.

This time, they’re not just repeating themselves. The sequel picks up right where the first left off—Grace is barely done mopping up the blood when she finds herself sucked into an even bigger mess. Now she’s up against not just her husband’s family, but four rival families, all gunning for control of the so-called “Council that controls the world.” No pressure, right? Luckily, she’s got her (estranged) sister Faith, played by Kathryn Newton, along for the mayhem. Their mission: survive the night, keep each other breathing, and maybe—just maybe—come out on top of this weird, blood-soaked social ladder.

It’s gory, it’s profane, and it’s got that perfect blend of horror and dark comedy the first one nailed (plus a little more sibling drama for extra flavor).

The Cast: Horror Royalty, Rising Stars, and a Few Surprises

  • Samara Weaving returns as Grace, obviously.
  • Kathryn Newton joins as her sister Faith (if you’ve seen Abigail, you’ll know she fits right in).
  • Sarah Michelle Gellar is here, forever immortal as Buffy but still up for some carnage.
  • Elijah Wood, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, and Kevin Durand (another Abigail alum) all bring their genre chops.
  • David Cronenberg showed up in front of the camera, which is a trip in itself.
  • Plus: Kara Wooten, Juan Pablo Romero, Varun Saranga, Masa Lizdek, Nadeem Umar-Khitab, Daniel Beirne, Antony Hall, and Olivia Cheng round out the cast.

Bonus Features: Not Just Deleted Scenes

The digital/Blu-ray/DVD release isn’t messing around with the extras. Here’s what’s in the mix:

Audio Commentary: Not one, but two separate tracks. The first has directors Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett, writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, producers James Vanderbilt and Tripp Vinson, and editor Jay Prychidny. The second commentary brings in Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton for the actors’ perspective.

The Game Goes On: A four-part behind-the-scenes doc that covers everything from what makes this sequel distinct, to the way they took the original’s simple bloody mayhem and cranked it up to 11.

  • Part 1: Written in Blood — How they expanded the story and made sure it wasn’t just “Ready or Not, but again.”
  • Part 2: Casting the Chaos — Why this cast is the right amount of nuts.
  • Part 3: Designed for Destruction — Geeking out on set building, gore effects, and blowing stuff up (again).
  • Part 4: Blood, Guts, and Practical Mayhem — All the gnarly practical effects, and how they one-upped themselves from last time.

Rules of the Game: A deep-dive explainer on how the movie’s kill-or-be-killed game actually works—a fun geek-out if you’ve ever wondered about the logic behind all the chaos.

Gag Reel: For anyone who enjoys seeing actors break character in between bloodbaths.

How It’s Being Received

If you liked the first movie’s style, this one basically gives you more of what worked—emphasis on the blood, the one-liners, and the ‘rich families are terrifying’ subtext. One line in the official summary says it best:

'Moments after surviving an all-out attack from the Le Domas family, Grace discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game — and this time, with her estranged sister Faith at her side. Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all.'

So, yes—this franchise got weirder, a bit bigger, and still refuses to take itself too seriously (thankfully).

Will you be checking out Ready or Not 2 digitally, or are you a collector holding out for the Blu-ray? Either way, at least now you know when to expect it—and which bonus features make it more than just a rewatch.
