Reacher isn’t done yet: Amazon Prime Video is bringing back Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher for another round.

We finally know when our favourite six-foot-five, brick-outhouse of a man is returning to rough up the mean streets: Reacher Season 4 now has an official premiere date on Prime Video, and it looks like Jack’s swapping Maine lobsters for New York bagels. I’m not saying the body count is going down, mind — if anything, the city’s about to regret letting him anywhere near the subway.

After the last season holed Reacher up in the wilds of Maine, he’s back for a fresh conspiracy in New York City. This time, the drama kicks off with a subway bombing and a heap of guilt on Reacher’s hulking shoulders. He’s teaming up with NYPD Detective Tamara Green (Sydelle Noel), and what starts as terrorism in the tunnels quickly spirals into pentagon-level skulduggery. It’s all loosely pulled from Lee Child’s 'Gone Tomorrow', so expect the usual headbutting, sprawling investigations, and Reacher falling for someone he probably shouldn’t.

Reacher Season 4 stretches from 12 August to 16 September, 2026, with new episodes every Wednesday.

Release schedule this time

Prime Video has clearly settled on their new formula for big genre shows: instead of dumping the whole lot at once (like they did for Season 1 back in 2022), they’re once again starting with a mini-binge, then stretching it out weekly — but now even the weekday has changed. Here’s how it works for 2026:

  • Premiere: 12 August 2026 (Wednesday) – First three episodes drop as a bundle
  • From then, it’s one episode per week every Wednesday, ending with the finale on 16 September 2026
  • Season 4 runs for 8 episodes in total, just like before

If you’ve forgotten just how convoluted these episode schedules get, here’s the quick run:

Episodes 1–3: 12 August (EP1: 'The City of Brotherly Love', EP2: 'Cage Fight', EP3: 'One Small Step')
EP4: 19 August ('Karambits and Pieces')
EP5: 26 August ('Bridge')
EP6: 2 September ('Plum Out of Luck')
EP7: 9 September ('Vote for Sampson')
EP8: Finale: 16 September ('Cut')

Spinoffs, cast changes, and crossovers

If you thought things were crowded with Reacher kicking about New York, brace yourself: the finale on 16 September lands the exact same day as the premiere of the Neagley spin-off. For the first time, Reacher and his on-again, off-again mate Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) won’t be on the same turf — she’s off solving fresh misery in Chicago, while he’s up to his neck in NYC bomb plots without her backup.

This go-round, Jack’s got company in the form of Tamara Green, as well as these new faces: Kevin Weisman as busybody journalist Russell Plum, Christopher Marquette as trauma-ridden brother Jacob Merrick, and Marc Blucas turning up as Congressman John Sampson. Kevin Corrigan’s also joining as Det. Shaun Docherty, with a couple of musicians-turned-actors (Anggun and Agnez Mo) as Amisha and Lila Hoth. Fair to say it's stretching the definition of “ensemble”.

Meanwhile, the Neagley series — all eight episodes drop on day one — gives Alan Ritchson a cameo, but otherwise it’s Sten’s show. Over in Chicago, she’s joined by Greyston Holt (Det. Hudson Riley), Adeline Rudolph (Renee Birdwhistle), Matthew Del Negro (Pierce Woodrow), Damon Herriman (Lawrence Cole), and Jasper Jones (Keno). If you prefer your vigilantes with a bit more subtlety and less bone-crunching, it might be up your alley.
