June brought a renewal blitz: Netflix, Apple TV and PBS handed out fresh seasons across historical drama, detective mystery, animation and comedy horror as they lock in future slates. Here’s every show that made the cut so far.

Time for a quick roundup, because June 2026 saw a glut of TV renewal announcements dropping from all directions—streaming heavyweights, good old-fashioned broadcasters, you name it. If you like period drama, twisted mysteries, animated demon-slaying, or slightly unhinged coastal comedies, there’s something in here for you. Several big titles got the nod for more episodes, so let’s dig into which shows survived the annual cull (and which ones got the chop for good).

Mark Your Calendar: What’s Coming Back?

  • House of Guinness (Netflix)
Netflix is clearly backing Stephen Knight’s latest historical epic, as they’ve greenlit House of Guinness for a second season. Production isn’t kicking off till early 2027. If you believe Knight, this show’s got proper legs: 'We’re going to do season two and three and four… all the way to the 1960s.' Ambitious doesn’t even cover it.
  • A Good Girl's Guide to Murder (Netflix)
Emma Myers returns as our slightly-too-keen amateur sleuth, but there’s a catch—the third season will also be the last. The whole thing’s already wrapped filming, set for release in 2027, and will be a tighter four-episode run rather than a full stretch. Author Holly Jackson chipped in: "As Good As Dead is my favourite of the books and it’s by far my favourite season of the show too."
  • Devil May Cry (Netflix)
The demon-hunting anime is coming back one last time for a third and final season. Showrunner Adi Shankar confirmed a fairly highbrow inspiration here—the whole structure mirrors Dante’s Divine Comedy: 'Season 1 was Inferno. Season 2 was Purgatorio. Season 3 will be Paradiso.' That’s quite the leap for a video game adaptation.
  • Widow's Bay (Apple TV)
Apple’s betting on comedy horror with Widow’s Bay for another round. Season two officially ordered, plus creator Katie Dippold just landed a multiyear overall deal with the streamer. Emmy-winner Matthew Rhys stays on as Mayor Tom Loftis. ‘Genre-bending’ is about right—honestly, good luck pinning this one down.
  • The Marlow Murder Club (PBS)
PBS’s Masterpiece arm is sticking with cosy crime; season four has the green light. This next batch—to be six episodes—adapts Murder on the Marlow Belle by Robert Thorogood. Cast stays put: Samantha Bond, Cara Horgan, Jo Martin, and Natalie Dew all back in the frame.

Who Didn’t Make It?

June also brought its share of casualties and sign-offs. Doctor Who Christmas Special 2026 is on the 'no return' list, along with The Hunting Party. Plus, Devil May Cry and A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder—both mentioned above—will officially end after their next season. Not often you see an onslaught of renewals and endings bundled together, but here we are.
