I Love LA expands cast with Taron Egerton, a Batman star, and more
Taron Egerton is joining one of HBO Max’s most popular shows for season two — with a Batman star and other familiar faces in tow.
Here’s one you probably weren’t expecting: Taron Egerton is about to show up on your telly in not just anything, but as part of the guest line-up for the second season of I Love LA over on HBO Max. That’s quite a pivot from his usual leading-man antics, isn’t it? The shoot’s happening right now in Los Angeles—obviously—and he’s not flying solo in the guest department either.
Let’s go through the other names HBO Max has roped in for this round: Jamie Chung (from Lovecraft Country, and also the voice behind Barbara Gordon in Batman: Caped Crusader), Benjamin Norris (he popped up in Never Have I Ever and Abbott Elementary), Dylan Arnold (recently did Lady in the Lake and Oppenheimer), Jessy Hodges (if you watched Barry), plus Milan Carter from FUBAR and It’s Florida, Man. As for what exactly they’ll be doing—HBO Max is keeping lips sealed on specific characters or plotlines for now.
The returning crew
Now, for anyone still catching up: the show all revolves around Maia (played by Rachel Sennott, who also dreamt the whole thing up), trying to cut her teeth as a talent manager—while, to be blunt, her non-work life is an ongoing shambles in the background of modern LA. Sennott’s back on screen and calling the shots again, alongside returning cast from last season: Odessa A’zion, True Whitaker, Jordan Firstman, and Josh Hutcherson, all on tap to reprise their parts.
After only three episodes of season one, HBO Max gave I Love LA an early season two order in November 2025, banking on rapidly growing viewership and strong word of mouth.
The streamer wasted no time greenlighting this second batch—barely three episodes had landed before they announced the renewal last November. That can only mean HBO Max saw the numbers and liked what they saw: the show notched up nearly two million viewers in the States across its platforms, making it one of their fastest-rising original comedies.
Who’s calling the shots?
Apart from Sennott, a couple of other names working behind the curtain: Emma Barrie, Aida Rodgers, Max Silvestri, and Lorene Scafaria are along as executive producers. Total episode count is set for eight this year—no proper date on exactly when you’ll get to see Taron Egerton and co. in action, but the cast list is shaping up nicely for whenever it does finally drop.
