Fresh off Final Destination Bloodlines’ record-smashing run, Warner Bros. has a new date with death: Final Destination 7 is locked for theaters sooner than expected, keeping the franchise’s new golden era roaring.

Here we go again—Death just won’t quit, and apparently neither will Warner Bros. Hot on the heels of the monster box office run for Final Destination: Bloodlines, the studio is already crossing dates off the calendar for the next inevitable set of elaborate accidents. Yep, Final Destination 7 is on the way, and that’s official—not just internet rumor.

The Date’s Already Set (Hope You’re Not Superstitious...)

Warner Bros. made it official during their CinemaCon spiel in Vegas: Final Destination 7 hits theaters May 12, 2028. It was part of a big slate announcement that stretches all the way to late 2028, but FD7 is clearly one they want front and center for summer horror fans.

Who’s Back For The Death Parade?

  • Lori Evans Taylor, who co-wrote Bloodlines, is scripting number 7 as well (not a stretch to assume they’re keeping the vibe going).
  • Directing gig? Still a big question mark—no director attached yet.
  • Producers are the same core crew: Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Jon Watts, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich are all on board again. (Warren Zide is officially listed as executive producer if you’re tracking the full death-bracket.)

Bloodlines Got This Rolling Fast

The ink on the Bloodlines box office reports isn’t even dry. That one, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein (working from a Jon Watts story), opened with a franchise-best $51 million here in the US alone. Worldwide? We're talking over $285 million—and that’s no small potatoes for a series that hadn’t been seen for 14 years. For the record: the franchise as a whole is just shy of $1 billion globally, making it New Line Cinema’s third-biggest horror series after The Conjuring and It.

Where’s The Story Headed? (Try Guessing, Nobody’s Talking...)

So far, there’s zero info on the plot for part seven. Bloodlines took a smart route by jumping back in time for a 1969-set sequence—a mini prequel inside all the usual carnage. With Lori Evans Taylor back on scripting duties, it's a pretty good bet we won't see any wild reinventions, but at least the continuity should be tight for returning fans.

'Warner Bros. is all-in on Final Destination right now, and they’re not letting that engine cool off.'

Other Stuff Warner Bros. Has on Deck

While FD7 is grabbing the headlines because, you know, death never dies, the new Warner Bros. schedule also dropped release dates for Evil Dead Wrath, The Revenge of La Llorona, and a Margot Robbie-fronted Ocean's prequel. Clearly, nobody at the studio is in the mood for subtlety or small bets.

Bottom line: if you’ve been holding your breath for more Rube Goldberg mayhem and new ways to make you squeamish about everyday objects, set your reminder for May 2028. And honestly? Given how fast Final Destination: Bloodlines reignited fan interest (and the studio’s bank account), I can’t even say I’m surprised.
