Avengers: Doomsday’s next preview will air during World Series Game 1
MLB of all places may have just tipped when you’ll catch the new Avengers: Doomsday trailer, via its official X account.
Well, Marvel fans, get ready because Avengers: Doomsday is about to start its marketing blitz. Two months out from release and the studio's pulled the pin on its latest publicity stunt — involving, oddly enough, baseball. Yes, really. If you had 'World Series' on your Marvel tie-in bingo card, fair play to you.
Tune in to World Series Game 1 for an exclusive preview of Avengers: Doomsday
This bit of cross-promotion dropped on the official MLB X account, promising that on 23 October 2026, during Game 1 of the World Series (8pm ET on FOX, for time-zone obsessives), viewers can expect a “special preview” of Avengers: Doomsday. Now, they’re being predictably cagey about exactly when this little Marvel morsel will air in the broadcast, so you might have to suffer through a fair bit of baseball if you’re keen to catch it live. If that's not your scene, fingers crossed for a quick upload after the fact.
Teasers and Cheesy Tie-Ins
It does not stop there. Over on the Fantastic Four Instagram, someone’s been using up their allowance of cringe puns — “Our heroes have stepped up to protect the planet, but nothing’s more daunting than stepping up to bat!” (honestly, Marvel’s marketing department must be in stitches). They’re also promising a ‘fantastic surprise’ for viewers tuning in, courtesy of Frosty Treats and the Future Foundation — every fictional soda and made-up company getting its moment in the sun.
Who’s Back, Who’s New, and Who’s Wearing the Mask
You probably already know a fair bit about Avengers: Doomsday if you’ve been anywhere near Marvel Twitter lately, but in case you’ve lost track: this one's all about a proper universe mash-up. The official blurb has it that the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and presumably whoever else they could sign in time will collide to face 'an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered' — directness not exactly Marvel Studios’ strong suit.
The real curveball (no pun intended) is Robert Downey Jr. coming back, not as Tony Stark — been there, snapped that — but as Victor von Doom. That’s right, Iron Man has turned villain and will now menace the MCU as its classic big bad, Doctor Doom himself. Chris Evans is reporting for duty too, back in the shield as Steve Rogers. If rumours are to be believed, Doom will actually unmask for one person — Steve himself — though, as always, take all those tidbits with a shaker of salt until Marvel officially says so.
- Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor
- Florence Pugh puts on the Black Widow suit again as Yelena Belova
- Vanessa Kirby plays Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman
- Pedro Pascal suits up as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic
- And there are more, but Marvel’s keeping some names close to the vest (as usual)
This one’s being steered by Joe and Anthony Russo, so expect the pacing and pyrotechnics to be very much in the house style. Avengers: Doomsday lands in cinemas on 18 December 2026, just in time to hoover up those Christmas box office receipts.
