Ethan Mercer has been writing about television, science fiction, and major film franchises for more than eight years. He graduated from the University of Westminster with a degree in Journalism, specialising in digital media.

His first job in the industry was at ChoicesUK, one of Britain's largest video rental chains — helping customers find their next favourite film by day, and taking home as many new titles as he could by night. Working there, before streaming became the norm, gave him the chance to watch an enormous range of cinema, from Hollywood blockbusters and cult classics to European arthouse films and hidden gems.

He later moved into digital entertainment journalism, working as an editor and television writer for several independent entertainment websites, before joining CineCorner.
