Hailee Steinfeld is staying quiet on Avengers: Doomsday, but fans think the trailer shows Kate Bishop’s flat
If you were hoping for clarity on Kate Bishop’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future, Hailee Steinfeld just swerved an Avengers: Doomsday question with a tiny, telling non‑answer.
Anyone hoping for Hailee Steinfeld to spill the beans on Kate Bishop’s next move in the MCU is still left guessing. She rocked up on US telly only to dance around the question of her possible return for Avengers: Doomsday, offering a non-answer that does absolutely nothing for patient Marvel fans.
I have no idea, time will tell.
That was Steinfeld’s entire contribution on the subject, delivered during a stop-off on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Not exactly the scoop everyone wanted, but it does set the tone for Marvel’s usual “wait and see” approach — at this point, they’ve almost made it a sport to keep names under wraps as long as possible. The Russo brothers have both confirmed the Doomsday cast sheet isn’t finished even after Marvel pushed out a massive batch of names earlier this year, but who’s actually showing up is still a matter of guesswork.
Clues, Leaks, and Wild Guesses
Of the faces we do expect, Ryan Reynolds is back as Deadpool, and Hugh Jackman makes another appearance as Wolverine — no great shock there. There are also persistent rumours about the so-called “Latverian Witches” tying back to current MCU regulars, though exactly which ones hasn’t been spelled out. It’s the usual Marvel fog.
What’s done more to fuel excitement than any official announcement, annoyingly enough, is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot in the SCREENX trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. That’s the expanded format where you get extra footage stretching out beyond the usual frame. Some sharp-eyed viewers reckon one sequence in the trailer looks a dead ringer for Kate Bishop’s flat — as last seen in Hawkeye.
One scene in the SCREENX trailer shows Scott Lang and Cassie having what looks like a personal moment in what might be Kate Bishop’s flat.
Specifically, the quick shot features Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Kathryn Newton as Cassie, his daughter. They're trying to have a tender heart-to-heart, and the backdrop supposedly matches the layout of Kate’s MCU digs. This immediately set off speculation online because of a callback to the end of The Marvels — the post-credits bit where Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) turned up to pitch Kate Bishop on putting together a new team. Kamala even name-dropped Ant-Man’s daughter, suggesting a California road trip to track down Cassie, opening the door for a new Young Avengers or Champions line-up.

The knot of all this? Marvel hasn’t actually confirmed most of these next-gen heroes for Doomsday at all. The studio’s cast reveal left out several big names from Phases 4 through 6: Bishop, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange — all still unaccounted for, which has only kept the rumour mill churning.
