After the finale, the verdict is in: CBS has made its call on Tracker Season 4. Here’s whether Colter Shaw and his crew of problem-solvers will be back on the hunt.

So, a bit of news about Tracker if you’ve been following the story of Colter Shaw’s cross-country escapades: there’s absolutely more on the way. In case you’d wondered if CBS was going to leave Shaw and his team stranded after Season 3, don’t worry—the show’s not going anywhere just yet.

The Renewal: CBS Is Still on Board

CBS actually locked in a fourth season for Tracker even before the third season wrapped up. Not exactly a shock when you look at the figures. Nielsen reckons that the last season pulled in around 17 million viewers across all platforms within just over a month—which more or less stacks up with what Season 2 managed. Clearly, people are still turning up for Colter’s brand of lone-wolf justice.

Audience buzz has been decent too, so it’s not just the big numbers keeping CBS interested. Long story short: as far as US network TV goes, Tracker's doing just fine, thank you very much.

What’s Different for Season 4?

Now, here’s a behind-the-scenes shake-up: production’s moving from Vancouver to Los Angeles from Season 4 onwards. Not some creative whim, mind—it’s all about California’s pile of tax credits: $48 million’s worth, to be specific. (That’s a lot of sandwiches for the production crew.)

If you’re worrying that’s going to mess with the show’s road-trip vibe, Justin Hartley—who’s both Shaw himself and also an executive producer—says not to fret. In an interview with The Wrap, he pretty much played it down:

'In terms of tone and character, I don’t think it’ll impact the show at all. Our show is a road show. Our character goes from town to town across the United States and meets people from all different walks of life and helps them out. These strangers become kind of his family in a way.'

Hartley actually reckons it’s a win, since filming in California lets them shake up the visuals and poke around new places—fair enough, considering the show’s all about new scenery and unlikely alliances.

When Will Season 4 Drop?

Which brings us to the wait: CBS is aiming to roll out Season 4 of Tracker in autumn 2026. Not next year—year after. Bit of a trek for loyal fans and kind of cheeky considering how well the show’s doing, but there we are.

  • Show: Tracker
  • Season 4 status: Officially renewed by CBS
  • Lead cast: Justin Hartley (also executive producer), supported by Lotus of supporting regulars (lawyer, tech whizz, handler, all still involved)
  • S3 viewership: 17 million multi-platform in 35 days (per Nielsen)
  • Main reason for filming move: $48m California tax credit, production moving from Vancouver to LA
  • Headspace of the show: Still a weekly, American town-hopping, found-family sort of gig
  • S4 release window: Autumn 2026 (US TV schedule)

In summary: Tracker carries on, Shaw keeps tracking, and the series gets to spend a bit of Hollywood’s tax money along the way. If you’re invested, there’s no cancellation-shaped cliffhanger—just a standard, long network hiatus to grit your teeth through.
