As Spider-Man: Brand New Day approaches, Tom Holland says Peter Parker could crush the golf course—and he’s eager to play a round with him.

Okay, so Tom Holland isn’t just your friendly neighborhood web-slinger—he also apparently wants to tee off with Spider-Man. Yes, seriously. In a recent chat with GQ, Holland started riffing about his love for golf and somehow ended up contemplating what it’d be like to hit the links with Peter Parker himself. Because, you know, once you’ve swung between skyscrapers, why not see how far you can drive a golf ball?

Tom Holland: Golfer Extraordinaire (Sort of)

For those not keeping score at home, Holland's a bit of a golf nut. He actually plays regularly, and it turns out the whole Holland clan is into it—so much so that there’s “contentious” debate over who’s the best player in the family. Here’s how Tom breaks it down:

  • ‘On paper, I would be the best golfer, but that doesn’t mean anything when it comes down to crunch time.’
  • Brother Harry: apparently the guy you want when it’s a do-or-die match.
  • Brother Sam: probably the steadiest, most consistent player.
  • Youngest brother Paddy: ‘not a great golfer’ (Tom’s words, not mine), but he’s supposedly the most athletic—and just needs more practice.
  • Tom claims best ‘short game’ in the group—because of course he does.

Golfing With Spider-Man? Why Not

When asked which of his own characters he’d actually want to golf with, Holland didn’t hesitate: It’s gotta be Spider-Man. His logic? He’s “really interested to see how far he could hit it”—and honestly, the image of Spidey accidentally launching a ball halfway to Queens with one of those web-powered swings is comedy gold.

What’s Up With the New Spidey Movie?

For those keeping tabs on the next chapter, Holland dropped a few nuggets about Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Right now, he’s filming extra scenes in London, but he made it clear that the movie’s basically finished—they’re just putting “the icing on the cake" at this point. Here’s how he described it:

"I can positively say that the stuff we’re doing, we don’t need. The movie works and sings as it is. We’re just adding the icing on the cake in certain areas. We’re finding some ways to add a little bit more humor. We’re layering in a villain plotline in a new way and some really fun stuff."

So, it sounds like the actual story is locked and loaded—including something new on the villain front and a bit more funny business for good measure.

If you’re marking your calendars: Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31, 2026. In the meantime, someone please get Peter Parker out to a driving range, just for science.
