Tom Felton’s Road Back to Hogwarts Just Got Its Biggest Hint Yet
Draco Malfoy isn’t leaving the stage just yet. Tom Felton has extended his Broadway run, giving Harry Potter fans until nearly year’s end to catch his return in the role.
Tom Felton just is not ready to hang up that Slytherin robe. If you were hoping to see him bring Draco Malfoy to life on stage in New York, there's good news: his run as everybody's favorite platinum-blond jerk has been extended—big time.
Felton's Broadway Stint Gets a Major Extension
If you missed the announcement, Felton took on the role of Draco Malfoy in the Broadway version of 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' last year. Originally, he was signed for a 19-week run set to finish up in March 2026. Apparently, audiences—and the box office—couldn't get enough, so now he's sticking around at the Lyric Theatre until November 1, 2026. That's right, Potter fans have almost two extra years to catch him live.
Important Dates to Know
- Felton is scheduled to perform straight through until November 1, 2026.
- But heads up: he has a few breaks where he’ll be off the stage. Specifically, he won't be appearing between May 11-31, August 17-23, September 14-20, and October 12-18. So double-check those blackout dates if you're planning a Broadway trek.
Felton's Own Take on Returning as Draco
Back when he first signed on, Felton admitted he was feeling a bit sentimental about coming back to the wizarding world in a whole new way. The timing is pretty poetic, too.
He added that he was excited to finally join the Broadway community, so the guy's clearly all-in.
Why This Is Such a Big Deal
This is the first time one of the film series alums has taken their role to the Broadway stage. Nobody from the original movies artfully scowled as Draco in the live show before Felton showed up. 'Cursed Child,' if you somehow missed all the hype, picks up with Harry Potter's second son, Albus, heading to Hogwarts, struggling under a mountain of family expectations, and (classic Slytherin twist) growing resentful of dear old dad.
The Box Office Loves Draco
It's not just the fans who are excited—producers have to be doing cartwheels backstage. Since Felton made his debut, 'Cursed Child' has been the top earner on Broadway. It absolutely blew the doors off the Lyric Theatre's box-office records, raking in $3.7 million in just one nine-performance week at the end of 2025. Easy to see why they'd want to keep him around.
So if you've always wanted to see Felton on stage, or you're just desperate for some high-quality live Potter nostalgia, you've got a (long) window. Just watch out for those handful of Draco-less weeks.
