Fans who feared the case was closed can relax: Titus Welliver says Bosch: Legacy is zeroing in on Season 4, with the creative team mapping a return for Prime Video’s long-running detective franchise despite talk of an ending.

If you’ve been wondering whether we’ve truly seen the last of Bosch on TV, you’re not the only one. Titus Welliver, Harry Bosch himself, has finally weighed in on the show’s future—and let's just say the story isn’t quite closed. Not yet, anyway.

So, What’s the Deal With Bosch: Legacy Season 4?

Despite Prime Video and Amazon Freevee officially calling time on Bosch: Legacy after three seasons (they made that announcement back in September 2024), Welliver is out here keeping the flame alive. When asked by Screen Rant, Welliver admitted he, author Michael Connelly (Bosch’s original creator), and producer Henrik Bastin aren’t ready to let the show go so easily.

'There have certainly been conversations between Connelly and Henrik Bastin and myself, and ideas, but nothing definitive at this point.'

So, translation: There are no official plans, but the cast and crew are still talking about ways to keep Bosch in the mix. No one’s actually taken the final bow just yet.

The Bosch Universe Is Getting Crowded

Even if Legacy doesn’t get a Season 4, the larger Bosch franchise is nowhere close to shutting down. There are at least two spin-offs that are very much alive and kicking:

  • Start of Watch: This one’s a prequel focused on a young Harry Bosch, with Cameron Monaghan in the lead, currently filming around Los Angeles for MGM+. Welliver will still show up here—which, if you follow this franchise, shouldn’t surprise you.
  • Ballard (Season 2): Maggie Q leads the charge in this series, with Welliver set to make a recurring appearance. It’s not scheduled to hit screens until 2026, so settle in.

Welliver says everyone’s priorities are set on making sure Start of Watch gets off the ground first. According to him, 'They’ve very much got their hands full with Start of Watch, which I’m excited to see, and I’m excited for everyone involved.' Honestly, I’m curious too—mainly because prequels can be hit or miss, but with Bosch there’s always weirdly more depth to tap into.

Bosch’s Next Stops (And Some Side Hustle News)

There’s another wrinkle if you’re keeping tabs on Welliver: he’s got a new gig. He’s starring in The Westies, a Manhattan mob drama dropping July 12 on MGM+ and coming from Narcos creator Chris Brancato (expect grit, obviously). J.K. Simmons, Tom Brittney, and Jessica Frances Dukes are also in the mix, because apparently every prestige drama must have at least one Oscar winner on set now.

As for Connelly—the guy who started all this—he’s doubled down previously that 'We have not seen the last of Harry Bosch.' Safe to say, this character is going to keep popping up in one shape or another across any spinoff that’ll have him.

Final Thoughts

So, is Bosch: Legacy dead? Maybe. But the Bosch universe is very much alive, and, frankly, looks set to sprawl across just about every streaming service Amazon owns. Whether we’re talking prequels, sequels, or crossovers, it looks like Harry Bosch won’t be clocking out any time soon.
