The Terminal List Season 2 Is Coming—Here’s When to Expect the Premiere
Prime Video finally sets The Terminal List season 2 premiere, landing three years after the first mission.
If you thought Prime Video had left The Terminal List at the bottom of its to-do list, think again. It's been almost three years (seriously, three!) since Chris Pratt suited up as Navy SEAL James Reece, but Amazon finally dropped a date for season 2 during their Upfronts shindig. All eight episodes are set to hit Prime Video on October 21. So if you’ve been stockpiling tactical vests and conspiracy theories in anticipation, mark your calendar.
The Story This Time: More Than Just Revenge Lists
This season isn't just picking up right where we left off. The show is now shifting gears, adapting Jack Carr's second book, True Believer. James Reece is moving beyond his kill list (which, side note: was extensive), diving headfirst into international intrigue. The guy’s apparently on a mission of 'violent redemption'—which is vaguely ominous but fits the mood—and trying to figure out what to do now that his original revenge tour is over.
The new plot stretches well beyond U.S. borders. We’re talking Moscow, Langley, the Indian Ocean, various stops in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. It sounds like someone, somewhere in Amazon really wanted to max out that travel budget.
The Cast & New Faces
Of course, Chris Pratt is back in the lead, because who else are you going to call for a global revenge adventure with lots of scowling? The supporting cast gets a few shake-ups and additions this season:
- Tom Hopper
- Constance Wu
- Dar Salim
- Luke Hemsworth (yes, the other Hemsworth)
- Gabriel Luna
- Costa Ronin
- Olga Kurylenko
- Yul Vazquez
- Arnold Vosloo
- Shiraz Tzarfati
There are more, but you get the idea—this cast is stacked and continues the series' odd tradition of mixing recognizable faces with a few you saw somewhere but can't quite place.
Meanwhile, in Terminal List Franchise Land...
If you missed it, the spinoff/prequel The Terminal List: Dark Wolf dropped last year. This one focuses on Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch, charting his path from Navy SEAL to CIA. So far, Amazon hasn't greenlit a second season, but they're clearly not out of ideas.
Taylor Kitsch seems game for a darker, messier second round. Last year, he said:
'We’re seven years earlier, which gives us a long runway. We have a pretty hard outline of where Ben’s gonna go if we’re lucky enough to do season 2.'
And he didn’t stop there:
'We shine a brighter light into the darkness of service... I love where we ended because we get way darker and I think you're finally gonna see Ben truly fall in season 2, which obviously goes toward Terminal List season 1 and why he makes the decisions he makes.'
So if you think the prequel was gritty, apparently you’ve seen nothing yet.
The Big Takeaway
Whether you’re a die-hard Terminal List fan or just here for Chris Pratt’s suspiciously clean tactical shirts, you’ll finally get a fresh batch of episodes this fall. Circle October 21. In the meantime, maybe brush up on your international spy lingo and, who knows, check out Dark Wolf if you want all the brooding military backstory you can handle.
