The Gentlemen season 3 is already shooting with the whole cast back - and Netflix still will not name a date
The Gentlemen’s Season 3 has nabbed a major production boost, just as the Theo James Netflix crime series becomes a streaming hit.
Here we go again — The Gentlemen is officially ploughing ahead with season 3, and it’s not shy about switching things up. Not content to stick around Blighty, the production has picked up and shipped itself off to Morocco, of all places. If you’re wondering why our favourite fictional criminals are suddenly getting a bit more sun, let’s break it down.
The Gentlemen began filming its third season on 13 September, with production setting up in Morocco — a far cry from the usual English country houses.

New territory, familiar faces
Production kicked off in Rabat (Morocco’s capital, for those of you who never quite got round to finishing that gap year) and then shifted out to Erfoud — which, if you recognise the name, is the bit of desert you’ve seen in about a million films set anywhere from outer space to the Sahara. The change in landscape isn’t just backdrop; it’s apparently straight down to Eddie Horniman’s growing criminal empire branching out beyond England’s green and not-so-pleasant land.
The main cast are all back for more chaos. Theo James returns as Edward ‘Eddie’ Horniman, the ex-squaddie turned accidental drug lord everyone loves to binge-watch. Kaya Scodelario is back as Susie Glass (she of the steely stare and sharper tongue), Daniel Ings as the always-in-over-his-head Freddy, and Ray Winstone pops back up as patriarch Bobby Glass. If you’re wondering whether Guy Ritchie still has his fingerprints all over this, rest easy — he’s keeping an eye on things from a respectable distance.
What’s Eddie up to now?
The root of it all is Eddie’s slow descent — or, depending how you look at it, promotion — from posh but reluctant landowner to proper underworld boss. Theo James has in the past said he sees Eddie as cut from the same cloth as a Soprano or a Walter White. The usual spiel: power, personal compromise, the works. Season one was all about the cannabis racket buried under Eddie’s family estate; by now, things have escalated and got a lot murkier (if, improbably, even more stylish).
Season 3 promises to ramp up the messiness — both in business and in his relationship with Susie. The move to Morocco hints we’re in for a much broader tableau of criminal shenanigans than just the English countryside all over again. I’d guess we’ll see new players, new landscapes, and presumably at least one chase scene through a market square.
There’s no release date yet for the new season, so if you’re itching to see what disasters Eddie stumbles into next, you’ll have to hold tight. Netflix, as usual, are keeping things sealed up tighter than a country estate’s wine cellar.
