Scary Movie 6 Has Exactly the Number of Post-Credits Scenes You Expect
As Scary Movie 6 hits theaters, the post-credits count is in: two mid-credits scenes. Unlike most earlier entries, you’ll want to stick around when the credits roll.
Scary Movie 6 is shambling onto the big screen this June, and yes—after more than a decade in hibernation, the daftest horror parody series ever made is back for another go. In typical franchise fashion, it can’t resist poking fun at pretty much everything, including itself. But if you’re wondering about post-credits scenes (because, let’s be honest, every film does them now), this one’s got a couple of new tricks up its sleeve.
How many bonus scenes are lurking after the film?
If you’re the sort who sits through the credits, here’s what you’re in for: there are two mid-credits scenes in Scary Movie 6, but nothing tacked on at the very end. No Marvel-style sequel hints, but both are just straight-up gags—very on-brand for this series.
- The first bonus scene is a spoof trailer: 'Brosferatu'—which, yes, is exactly as silly as it sounds. It’s riffing on the 2024 remake of 'Nosferatu', turning it into a bro-comedy with fangs.
- The second mid-credits bit takes a shot at Nicolas Cage’s 2024 horror flick 'Longlegs', specifically its interrogation scene. Expect the usual Scary Movie nonsense, this time with a Cage-twist.
The old gang returns... 13 years later
This isn’t just another standalone spoof, either—it properly reunites the original crew, picking up over a quarter-century (!) after they first survived that masked killer with more than a passing resemblance to Scream’s Ghostface. Now they’re back, with a new slasher on the prowl and the same urge to send up every horror trend under the sun. If you’ve seen one of these films before, you know exactly what you’re getting.
Who’s making all this possible?
The Wayans brothers are well and truly back in the saddle. Michael Tiddes is in the director’s chair, while the script is a family affair written by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans, and Rick Alvarez. The cast list could double as a reunion party invite: Marlon and Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Kenan Thompson, Dave Sheridan, and Lochlyn Munro are all onboard, plus a smattering of new faces.
This time, the Wayans crew are also the main producers, making it under their own Wayans Bros. Entertainment banner, and teaming up with Miramax. The old studio, Brad Grey Pictures, is out. Paramount Pictures is handling distribution everywhere—so wherever you’re watching, it’s their logo you’ll see at the start.
Reception, numbers, and early buzz
Long-running comedy franchises aren’t exactly known for their critical acclaim, so the early mixed-to-positive reviews aren’t especially shocking. It’s currently sitting at 6.2 out of 10 on IMDb. The reported budget is $30 million (not shoestring, but definitely not blockbuster either), and box office forecasts are pretty healthy: Deadline reckons $40 million domestic and $70 million worldwide for its opening, which—considering the budget—is decent going for a series like this.
These bonus scenes aren’t setting up sequels or world-building—they’re just the sort of quick-fire, utterly daft gags you either love or can’t stand. It’s business as usual, really.
Scary Movie 6 is in cinemas from Friday, 5 June 2026. If you want to catch all the jokes (even the ones hidden away in the credits), maybe don’t duck out too early.
