Prime Video’s week of May 25–31 finally delivers Spider-Noir, with Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, a down-on-his-luck PI turned masked hero stalking 1930s New York — plus a fresh slate of TV and movie drops.

Right, so this is one of those weeks where Amazon Prime Video is properly piling it on. If you’re after fresh superhero fare—or just after that oddly specific itch for black-and-white TV in 2026—there’s plenty dropping. Here’s what you need to know about what’s landing from 25th to 31st May.

Spider-Noir Swings In: Nicolas Cage Gets Moody

Let’s start with the big one: Spider-Noir. Yes, if you’ve ever wondered what Spider-Man would look like as a washed-up PI in 1930s New York, nursing regrets and generally failing at life, you’re in luck. Nicolas Cage is back as Ben Reilly (not Peter Parker, mind), reprising the raspy crimefighter he voiced in the ‘Spider-Verse’ animated films. Only this time, it’s live-action, proper period piece stuff.

This one’s not just a nostalgia parade either. Cage’s Reilly ‘is forced to confront his past,’ which is one of those lines that either means soul-searching drama or a lot of punching. And here’s the truly quirky bit: Prime Video are releasing the whole series in both colour and black-and-white. They’ve even churned out trailers for both versions, so you get to pick your poison. The eight-episode series hits Prime this week.

'It’s like Prime’s daring you to watch this in monochrome to feel extra sophisticated. Or just because black-and-white suits the fedora.'

Mammon, Tridents, and Soggy CGI: Aquaman Sequel Surfaces

Also popping up on Prime this week is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom—that DC film from 2023. Jason Momoa’s still at it as Arthur, getting dragged into another globe-trotting sea brawl, alongside the brother he generally tries to avoid. Their main headache this time is Black Manta, who’s levelling up on villainy and threatening to flatten everything. If you managed to forget about this sequel (five years after the first film, mind you), that’s understandable. It hit cinemas with a splash and sank down the news feed pretty quick.

Whether you’re a fan of underwater wrestling, superhero family bust-ups, or just want to see how DC handled things before the next inevitable reboot, it’ll be waiting for you midweek.

Prime Video Attempts Live Sport Takeover

Not content with capes and tridents, they’re also shovelling in loads of live sport. Prime Video’s broadcasting some decent fixtures across baseball, women’s football, and racing. Standouts this week:

  • Wednesday: Yankees vs. Kansas City Royals (baseball, obviously)
  • Thursday: WNBA – game night spills over to streaming
  • Friday: NWSL for your dose of women’s football
  • Sunday: NASCAR goes live, so rev your engines or whatever it is gearheads say

Last bit of trivia for the truly committed: elsewhere on Prime Video, The Boys Season 5 finale is getting serious flak from the Gen V fandom. Worth a look if you’re in the mood for some fan outrage.

But in the meantime, there’s plenty to keep you streaming—and yes, Nicolas Cage’s existential Spidey is as weird as it sounds.
