OBAA’s Chase Infiniti Reveals 3 Lessons She Learned from Leonardo DiCaprio
Fresh off One Battle After Another, Chase Infiniti reveals the three on-set lessons she picked up from Leonardo DiCaprio—and how they’re shaping her next chapter in The Testaments.
Chase Infiniti is having a moment right now, bouncing from 'One Battle After Another' (yeah, that's the one with Leonardo DiCaprio) straight into a headline role on 'The Testaments.' She recently broke down what she actually learned watching DiCaprio work — and it turns out, the takeaways were more about basic decency and vibe than 'method acting' or whatever else actors claim rubs off on set.
The Leo Effect: Not Just About Starring in Every Scene
You might expect that working with Leonardo DiCaprio means learning some secret sauce about owning the camera, but if you ask Chase, that's not what stuck. What really left a mark was how the guy runs a set:
'The thing I learned the most from Leo is he's just such an incredible, gentle leader, and I really admired that. And also his level of professionalism that he has.'
She was especially impressed by his attitude off-camera: no grandstanding, no power trips, just classic 'treat everyone like a human being,' which you probably wouldn't expect from someone who gets paid millions to pretend to drown or fight bears.
'Somebody at that level in their career really makes an effort to be just a kind human being to everybody on set.'
Three Simple Rules, Courtesy of Leo
Chase says she brought over three big lessons from DiCaprio when she landed in the center of 'The Testaments.' (And yeah, she actually lists them out.):
- Gentle leadership — no screaming, no throwing scripts, just guiding people calmly
- Consistent professionalism — showing up, focused, even if you don't 'feel it'
- Base-level kindness — apparently not something you can take for granted on every set
She made a point of being approachable on her new project, saying she wanted to be 'a leader in any sense,' whether that meant literally being in charge, being someone's sounding board, or just sharing an honest opinion if something felt off. According to her, that's what really lets a big ensemble click, both on and off the screen.
Teamwork (Even When You've Got More Screen Time)
Chase described both 'One Battle After Another' and 'The Testaments' as team-heavy productions. In her words, 'the way that both of those thrived was in community.' It's old-fashioned, maybe, but making yourself available to your cast — for venting, advice, or just existing in the same emotional timezone — is apparently the glue that holds the whole thing together.
If you haven't been keeping up: In 'The Testaments,' Infiniti plays Agnes, one of the main characters, in a story set years after 'The Handmaid's Tale.' Episodes are dropping weekly on Hulu, so no, Hulu hasn't abandoned the tradition of making you wait for it.
