Dutton Ranch star eyes a reunion with Luke Grimes — but hints Kayce Dutton will sit out Season 1.

Anyone else feel like Yellowstone is quietly turning into the TV equivalent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Suddenly we’re juggling two spin-offs—Dutton Ranch in Texas, Marshals in Montana—plus the original series, and nobody seems quite sure how long the Duttons can avoid bumping into each other. Surely at some point, all these family members scattered across states are going to show up for dinner in the same episode, right?

So, Will We Get a Dutton Crossover?

Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton herself) just fueled that speculation in a big way. During a Dutton Ranch preview event, she told People that she’d love to work with Luke Grimes again and openly misses him—kind of a big hint considering Reilly and Grimes haven’t actually shared screentime in these new spin-offs. Her direct quote:

'I'm so proud of Luke, and we love him so much, and I miss him. I wish we had a crossover. Maybe we will in the future.'

Translation: she wishes Beth and Kayce were still hanging out onscreen, and it sounds like that’s not happening in Dutton Ranch season one. But she also makes it clear the idea isn’t off the table.

Where Everyone Landed After Yellowstone

  • Beth & Rip (Kelly Reilly & Cole Hauser): They now headline Dutton Ranch, which kicks off May 15 on Paramount Network and Paramount+. The series picks up after a major tragedy (classic Yellowstone), sending Beth, Rip, and their adopted son Carter to south Texas, where—shocking absolutely no one—they immediately butt heads with a neighboring ranch that’s somehow even more unhinged than their old enemies.
  • Kayce (Luke Grimes): He’s leading Marshals, which follows him about a year after suffering a big loss in Montana. Kayce’s trying to start over with his son, Tate, and apparently signs up for the U.S. Marshals Service—yes, it’s a procedural, but the Dutton DNA is definitely still there.

These Spin-Offs Aren't Pretending to Be Totally Separate

Every Dutton show lately is bending over backward to remind us who’s related to whom. Marshals hasn’t been shy about name-dropping Beth and Rip (they’ve both gotten referenced by Kayce), and even John Dutton still manages to come up. That’s not just lip service: Marshals actually brings back Brecken Merrill, Gil Birmingham, and Mo Brings Plenty in recurring roles. So if you’re invested in Yellowstone lore, you’re not exactly starting from scratch.

On top of that, Luke Grimes gave his own mini-tease to TV Insider back in April, saying there’s ‘probably a good chance’ more Yellowstone cast will pop up on Marshals. So the cast is absolutely into it, and that’s usually the first barrier with these sprawling franchises.

No Crossovers Yet—But Don't Count Them Out

Before everyone starts setting their DVRs, there’s still no formal crossover announcement. Reilly and Grimes are both just voicing their own hopes for now—nothing signed, nothing shot. But if Dutton Ranch spends its first nine episodes getting Beth and Rip settled in Texas, the next logical step is a big family reunion eventually. And honestly, if these new spin-offs keep ramping up, Sheridan might not be able to resist it even if he wanted to.
