Jayne Trcka, Bodybuilder and ‘Scary Movie’ Star, Dies at 62
Jayne Trcka, famed for her role in Scary Movie and her achievements in bodybuilding and wrestling, has passed away at 62. Her son confirmed her death, with the cause yet to be determined.
Jayne Trcka, whose career spanned bodybuilding, wrestling, and the big screen, has died at the age of 62. Her son confirmed the news, stating she passed away on 12 December 2025. The cause remains undetermined, though a representative from the San Diego Medical Examiner’s office noted there was trauma present, but declined to specify further at this stage.
Trcka’s journey into bodybuilding began in the late 1980s, though she only committed to it fully about ten years later. By 2000, she had shifted her focus to acting, landing the memorable part of Miss Mann in the cult comedy Scary Movie. Her film credits also include The Black Magic, Nudity Required, The Interplanetary Surplus Male and Amazon Women of Outer Space, and Cattle Call. She even made a brief appearance as a prison guard in Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone’ music video, and popped up on television in shows such as Who’s Line Is It Anyway?
From the Gym to the Silver Screen
Before her foray into acting, Trcka was already making a name for herself in the world of fitness. Her competitive streak was evident early on, but it wasn’t until the late 1990s that she truly embraced bodybuilding as a profession. The transition to acting seemed a natural progression, and her imposing presence made her a standout in every role she took on.
Outside of her work in entertainment and fitness, Trcka also worked as a realtor in California. She managed to juggle her various careers with apparent ease, never quite leaving behind her first love: wrestling.
Wrestling Roots and Childhood Memories
In an interview with Muscle Magazine, Trcka reminisced about her early days, sharing that wrestling was her original passion. Performing under the name Kasie Cavanaugh in her youth, she recalled,
“I remember standing in my underwear in our living room, having boxing and wrestling matches with my brother.”
She went on to say,
“I used to chase the neighbourhood boys with angleworms; I loved to have the upper hand on the boys.”
Her competitive spirit and sense of fun were evident from a young age, traits that would later define her public persona both on and off the screen.
