Jack Lowden just lost his spot as the favorite to play the next James Bond
A shake-up in the 007 odds has thrown a spanner in Jack Lowden’s bid for the tux.
So, the never-ending, very British guessing game over who gets to swan about as the next James Bond has taken a sharp turn. Those who’d been betting on Jack Lowden to slip into 007’s tuxedo might want to reconsider: there’s a new frontrunner, and he’s pulled ahead with the bookmakers faster than a Bond car chase.
Odds On Bond
The latest chatter (this round sparked by odds shared online by @Kalshi on X) suggests Callum Turner is suddenly the man to beat. Apparently, odds now give Turner a 63% shot at becoming Bond, bumping Lowden from the top spot that had looked nearly certain. All that shadowy speculation and debate over who’ll inherit Daniel Craig’s martini glass is once again wide open.
Callum Turner leads the next James Bond odds with a 63% chance as of November 2026.
Bookmaker William Hill is also backing this shift. Turner originally sat at 3/1, but his odds have now been cut to 8/13, which means the bookies are clearly hearing something. Lowden’s odds, meanwhile, have drifted to 2/1, so he’s definitely not out but is no longer the bookies’ favourite.
Beneath the big two, there’s the usual Bond rumour crowd. Josh O’Connor, who has apparently auditioned as well, is sitting at 9/2 on the odds boards. If you fancy an outside punt, Richard Madden, Robert Pattinson, and Joe Alwyn are all floating around at 16/1—a decent field, but no one looking likely to actually grab the keys to the Aston Martin just yet.
Waiting On That Official Word
The important bit: none of this is actually confirmed by Amazon MGM Studios, who are holding their cards closer than MI6. Turner is only described as having had a strong screen test for the role in what is expected to be Denis Villeneuve’s next Bond film. Fans and punters are getting their hopes up based on leaks, whispers, and, crucially, betting markets getting sliced and diced weekly.
How close are we to a decision? That’s still a bit foggy, but producer Amy Pascal recently hinted that news could break ‘by the end of the year’. So, not one for your diaries just yet.
- Callum Turner: odds cut from 3/1 to 8/13
- Jack Lowden: now at 2/1
- Josh O’Connor: 9/2
- Richard Madden, Robert Pattinson, Joe Alwyn: 16/1
The mysterious 26th Bond film still doesn’t have an official release date. Bond rumour season, on the other hand, is in full swing and clearly not going anywhere fast.
