HBO’s I Love LA, starring Elijah Wood, has wrapped production — and Season 2 now has a premiere window that’s sooner than you might think.

If you've been waiting for another bit of sharp, acerbic telly about Los Angeles and its crop of self-obsessed characters, you're in luck: I Love LA is officially back for a second run, and it's happening much sooner than anyone expected.

I Love LA launched in late 2025 and returns with its second eight-episode season in early 2027.

Return on the Horizon

Rachel Sennott's send-up of West Coast influencer culture ran for eight episodes on HBO at the tail end of 2025. It picked up enough buzz (and a healthy amount of praise for skewering online fame) that HBO renewed it for season 2 before the first lot had finished airing. That said, with the months ticking by and not much word from the network, it did look for a moment like the wait could stretch well past the one-year mark. Now, though, there's reason for fans to breathe easy. Jordan Firstman, who plays Charlie Cohen, has come out and said filming's all wrapped up and pointed to an early 2027 release.

No precise date from HBO yet, but Firstman's update is about as official as it gets without an announcement plastered on your homepage. Expect to see the new episodes hit streaming in the first half of next year.

Who's Back (and Who's Not?)

Confirmed for round two: Rachel Sennott, Jordan Firstman, Odessa A'zion, True Whitaker and Josh Hutcherson. They'll be joined this time by a string of new guest faces — some reasonably big names if you follow the type of things people actually tweet about:

  • Taron Egerton
  • Jamie Chung
  • Benjamin Norris
  • Dylan Arnold
  • Jessy Hodges
  • Milan Carter

The main question mark is over Elijah Wood. He turned up playing himself (well, a slightly roguish, exaggerated version of himself) in season 1's fourth episode, called 'Upstairses'. Whether he'll reappear? Nobody's saying, so consider his cameo status ‘pending’ for now.

What to Expect

First series out the gate was applauded for its properly sharp writing, brisk pacing, and a willingness to take the mick out of influencer culture without being completely insufferable about it. Whether season 2 can pull the same trick remains to be seen — but considering it's adding even more famous faces to the mix, there's every chance the show could double down on the pop-culture digs and come out swinging.

With production buttoned up and a clear(ish) premiere window in sight, now it's just down to HBO picking the exact day for the return — and maybe keeping a few more surprise cameos in the pocket for launch.
