Harry Wild season 6 release date: what's confirmed since season 5 wrapped in July
Harry Wild's fifth season finished on Acorn TV in July 2026 and the streamer has said nothing since. Here's the renewal status as it actually stands, the show's own announcement pattern, and why the dates circulating online aren't real.
Season 5 of Harry Wild finished its weekly Acorn TV run in late July 2026, six episodes in six weeks. Since then the streamer has said nothing at all about a sixth — which, going by the show's own history, isn't the signal it looks like.
As of 15 September 2026, Acorn TV has not announced a sixth season of Harry Wild, has not set a premiere date, and has not confirmed that any production is planned for Dublin. Nothing has been cancelled either. The show is simply in the gap it has sat in after every previous season.
That gap has a shape worth knowing, because it's the only reliable guide to when news arrives.
How this show announces things
The season 5 renewal didn't come from a press release. Jane Seymour announced it herself on a panel at the ATX Television Festival in Austin on 31 May 2025, and AMC Networks followed with a statement the same weekend. At that point season 4 was still two episodes from finishing its run.
The rest of the sequence went:
- Renewal — 31 May 2025, at ATX, with six episodes confirmed and Dublin named as the production base.
- Filming — began September 2025 in Ireland, wrapping before the end of the year.
- Casting news — 17 September 2025, when Acorn announced Joe Lando as new State Pathologist Pierce Kennedy, reuniting him with his Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman co-star.
- A stopgap — a two-part Harry Wild special dropped on Acorn on 24 November 2025.
- Premiere — 22 June 2026, running weekly through late July.
Roughly thirteen months from announcement to première, with a festival panel doing the announcing. No equivalent announcement has surfaced in 2026.
Why a sixth season is the likely outcome
Season 4 ranked among the ten most-watched seasons in Acorn TV's history when it aired in 2025, with double-digit viewing gains over season 3. The show is Seymour's longest-running series since Dr Quinn, which ran from 1993 to 1998, and she executive produces it alongside creator David Logan and writer Jo Spain. It's made by Dynamic Television, with Acorn Media Enterprises co-producing alongside Germany's ZDF — a co-financing structure that makes each season considerably cheaper for Acorn than it looks.
Seymour, speaking to CBR in 2025, described the appeal plainly:
Harry is "a woman that a lot of women would vicariously like to live through."
Season 5 also expanded the ensemble rather than trimming it, adding Lando to a regular cast that includes Rohan Nedd as Fergus Reid, Kevin Ryan as Charlie Wild, Rose O'Neill as Lola, Samantha Mumba as Paula Kenny and Aoife Mulholland as Orla. Shows being quietly wound down don't usually hire a new series regular.

About those dates circulating online
Several aggregator sites are currently listing a Harry Wild season 6 premiere of 5 July 2027, some of them down to a start time.
There is no such date. Acorn TV has not announced a sixth season for a date to attach to, and no trailer, synopsis or episode order exists.
If the show holds its pattern, the realistic window is an announcement in the second half of 2026 or the first half of 2027, a Dublin shoot the following autumn, and six episodes in summer 2028. If the announcement instead lands at ATX again — the festival usually runs in late May or early June — that timeline tightens by a few months.
For the record: season 5 sent Harry undercover in a secondary school, through a murder in the whiskey trade, and after a gang of middle-aged burglars. Whatever season 6 does, the bar for premise weirdness is now quite high.
