What country is MobLand based in? The Harrigans' home turf, and the second country the production crossed into for one episode

Pierce Brosnan's accent points one way and the postcodes point another. Guy Ritchie's Paramount+ crime drama runs on one patch of one city — with a mid-season detour that put the unit on a ferry.

MobLand is set in England, specifically modern-day London, where the Harrigans run the largest criminal empire in the north of the city. It's a British production created by Ronan Bennett, shot across London, Gloucestershire and Hampshire, plus one episode filmed partly in Antwerp, Belgium.

Irish family, English city

Conrad Harrigan (Brosnan) is an Irish gang leader operating out of London, married to Maeve (Helen Mirren), with Tom Hardy's Harry Da Souza as the family's fixer. Their rivals, the Stevensons, are local. Season 2, which premieres on 18 September 2026, describes the territory plainly: north London, and a fractured empire that rivals have noticed.

Set in London, made all over England

The series premiered on 30 March 2025 with 10 episodes and became Paramount+'s biggest original launch to date, with 2.2 million viewers on day one. The locations:

• The Midland Grand, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel — the opening restaurant shootout, in a brasserie named after the Victorian hotel that opened on the site in 1873.
• A smoked fish factory in Chalk Farm — the kitchen half of that same scene, shot separately.
• Waverton House, Sezincote, Gloucestershire — the Harrigan country estate, near Stow-on-the-Wold. It looks 18th century. It was built between 1978 and 1980.
• 27 Bassett Road, Notting Hill — Kevin Harrigan's house, on a street where properties go for around £10 million.
• Craven Street, central London — Harry and Jan's flat above the Thames.
• Farnborough International Studios and Farnborough Airport, Hampshire — the production's base, plus airport scenes.
• Peacock Gym, east London — renamed Moody's Gym, neutral ground for meetings.

Loulou's at 5 Hertford Street, the Mayfair members' club where Eddie Harrigan starts a war, is real, exclusive, and a Guy Ritchie haunt.

Supervising location manager Steve Mortimore has said the estate was chosen on a lake rather than a river, specifically to avoid looking like The Gentlemen. On the fish factory, he recalled: "There were a few complaints about the fish smell" — Hardy, by his account, walked in, pinched his nose and grinned.

The one episode shot abroad

Episode 6, "Antwerp Blues", released 4 May 2025 and directed by Daniel Syrkin from a script by Bennett and Jez Butterworth. Seraphina Harrigan (Mandeep Dhillon) and her brother Brendan (Daniel Betts) sail to Belgium for a ruby and diamond deal in Antwerp's gem underworld, and the crew went with them.

The real locations include the Kattendijkdok quay and the Havenhuis port authority building for the boat's arrival, the Botanic Sanctuary hotel on Leopoldstraat, the Court of First Instance on Bolivarplaats, and the brasserie Den Artist, opposite the Royal Museum of Fine Arts. The episode ends with Harry on a stolen motorbike through Antwerp's streets.

One continuity note for the pedantic: the Antwerp material was shot in winter, while the wide shots looking out from the Harrigan house show trees in full leaf.

Season 2 crossed a different border

Filming for the second run began in early 2026, largely back in London — Hackney, the Thames — but also took Brosnan to Mallorca. Season 2 runs 10 episodes weekly through to a finale on 20 November 2026. Paramount+ renewed the show for a third season on 3 September, a fortnight before season 2 had even aired, with Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren all confirmed. The Harrigans, as Conrad puts it in the trailer, are not difficult to look up.
