My Adventures with Superman returns to Adult Swim for Season 3 this summer, adding Glee alum Darren Criss as the voice of Superboy.

Let me set the scene: Adult Swim's wild spin on Superman, My Adventures with Superman, isn't just coming back for another round—it's tossing a musical theater grenade right into the Super-family. Yep, you read that right: Darren Criss, the guy you probably remember belting out showtunes on Glee, is suiting up (well, voicing up) as Conner Kent, aka Superboy, when Season 3 drops this summer.

Glee Goes Kryptonian

Criss joining the cast probably isn't a total jaw-dropper for DC diehards—he's already done his time in the cape, having voiced Superman himself in the animated movie Superman: Man of Tomorrow back in 2020. Now he's back in the metropolis saddle, but this time as the complicated offspring/clone/whatever-you-want-to-call-him, Conner Kent.

Superboy—as in, canonically, the weird science experiment mashup of Superman and Lex Luthor's DNA—has a notoriously tangled backstory. But if you aren't steeped in decades of comic lore, all you really need to know is: he's the half-Kryptonian, half-human wildcard of the family. And with this latest anime-inspired redesign (because, yes, this show really likes its swooshy hair and oversized eyes), Conner fits right in.

Superman’s Found Family Grows (Again)

So, let's talk family tree: Season 2 gave us Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, and now her fellow test-tube cousin is in town. That makes three core Super-family members hanging around, which is starting to make Clark Kent's Metropolis apartment look pretty crowded.

  • Superman/Clark Kent: Actually doing the superhero thing full-time and has finally stopped angsting about his Kryptonian roots. He's ready for the "normal life" stage—good luck with that, man.
  • Lois Lane: Now a bona fide star reporter at the Daily Planet and with zero interest in quietly settling down.
  • Jimmy Olsen: Upgraded from lovable dork to celebrity journalist. Still hilariously awkward, especially when it comes to Supergirl's attention.
  • Kara Zor-El/Supergirl: Still trying to get a grip on Earth life—and adding enough interpersonal drama to keep things interesting.
  • Conner Kent/Superboy (Darren Criss): New kid on the block/cloned block, walking family baggage and potentially a game-changer for the show's dynamic.

Season 3: All About Growing Pains

If you're looking for a classic Superman show, keep moving. This one is about sharp left turns, villain-of-the-week mayhem, and some surprisingly heartfelt romance. Here's the season's official tease:

Clark has finally embraced his Superman identity and isn’t having existential crises every episode—he’s ready to, quote, “settle down.” Meanwhile, Lois is at the top of her game as the Planet’s star reporter but is not ready to park herself in suburbia. Jimmy’s now a celebrity, but has apparently never had a normal conversation with Supergirl, who's still getting used to Earth. The twist: Season 3 brings in heavier-hitting enemies, ramps up the action, and throws this slapdash family into crisis mode. Which basically means, expect more punchy action, more romantic angst, and way-too-ambitious bad guys trying to ruin everyone’s day.

What Else?

Mark your calendar: My Adventures with Superman Season 3 blasts off June 13, 2026, on Adult Swim, with streaming on HBO Max after. And if that's not enough spandex for you, the show is spawning a sibling series, My Adventures with Green Lantern. No launch date, but it's in the works and definitely riding this show's buzz.

And there you have it—Superboy is getting the song-and-dance treatment (kind of). One more reason to check back in when this season drops. Hey, the more the super-merrier.
