From Season 4 Just Dropped — Stream Season 1 Free Now
From is back with Season 4, led by Harold Perrineau — and you can stream Season 1 free to catch up.
Alright, after what felt like forever—a chunky 17-month wait, in fact—MGM+'s most mind-bending sci-fi show, 'From', is officially back for its second-to-last season. Honestly, if you haven't been watching, it's time to pay attention. This thing rocketed up to number 6 globally on Flix Patrol right out of the gate, so clearly I'm not the only one obsessed. The finale is coming up soon, too (season 5 is already confirmed to be the last), so this is your shot before the spoilers flood in.
'From' Season 4: The Gory Details
Season 4 premiered on April 19, 2026 (yeah, it's weird typing that year), and wraps up on June 21. Even if the title doesn't exactly scream 'must watch', the show's earned a cult following for the way it turns familiar creepiness into something genuinely unsettling—even for jaded horror fans.
The premise: You're trapped in a nowhere-American town, and leaving... well, that doesn't happen. Try it, and you're monster food. Seriously. Vicious, night-stalking creatures straight out of a nightmare keep everyone on lockdown after dark. The place is led (for better or worse) by Boyd Stevens, played by Harold Perrineau—who fans will clock from 'Lost.' Boyd's not just your typical reluctant hero. He's got U.S. Army baggage, guilt over killing his own wife (Lisa Ryder), and a rough relationship with his son (Corteon Moore).
What's really cool, and honestly kind of frustrating in that addictive way, is that the town itself—just called The Township—is less a 'dark secret' situation and more this purgatory where everyone’s issues get dragged into the open. Other key folks: Jim (Eion Bailey) and Tabitha Mathews (Catalina Sandino Moreno), who, like absolutely everyone in this place, have messed-up pasts to untangle if they want to survive... or maybe even escape.
Want to give it a try? Season 1 is actually streaming free on The Roku Channel right now, which is as good an excuse as any to see if this is your kind of weird.
What Makes 'From' Stand Out?
You’ve seen the "small town isn't what it seems" trope a million times. 'From' does something sharper with it. Instead of just hinting at some evil local conspiracy or Stephen King-style evil underbelly, this show drops its lost souls into a world that’s equal parts existential limbo and bloody nightmare. (No surprise the directing roster includes Jack Bender, who did a bunch of 'Lost' and knows how to twist a mystery.)
- The monsters aren’t just boogeymen—they’re part of a larger psychological maze
- The vibe mixes David Lynch strangeness with the suffocating dread of 'The Twilight Zone'
- The real plot isn’t the monsters, it’s the characters figuring out who they were, why they’re stuck here, and how—or if—they can move on
'From isn’t about peeling back a town’s secrets—it’s about whether anyone can outrun (or at least outlive) their own personal ghosts.'
Unlike 'Wayward Pines', 'Castle Rock', or 'Midnight Mass', 'From' is less about the town being evil and more about the townsfolk being... stuck. Trapped in a space that almost dares them to grow or die. Or both.
If you’re tired of the usual 'spooky town with a dark secret' TV routine, this one actually brings something new to the table. Which probably explains why, even after four seasons, it’s still weirdly under the radar. Blame the title, maybe, but not the execution.
With season 4 burning up the charts and only one left after this, now is seriously the time to binge, catch up, or at least see what all the fuss is about. And hey—the first season’s free, so you’re all out of excuses.
