Disney Plus January 2026: Unmissable Films and Series Arrivals
Discover the standout films and series debuting on Disney Plus this January, from Marvel’s Wonder Man to the thrilling finale of Percy Jackson & The Olympians season 2. Dive into a month packed with fresh releases and returning favourites.
January on Disney Plus is shaping up to be a rather lively affair, with a host of new titles and returning favourites making their way onto the platform. Whether you’re after a fresh Marvel adventure, a dose of fantasy, or a classic film to revisit, there’s plenty to keep viewers occupied as the new year gets underway. The streamer’s line-up this month is a proper mix, with something for just about everyone.
Marvel’s Wonder Man and the Percy Jackson Finale
Among the most talked-about additions is Wonder Man, a six-part series that brings one of Marvel’s more obscure characters into the spotlight. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II takes on the role of Simon Williams, an actor who unexpectedly finds himself with superhuman abilities after auditioning for a part in a Wonder Man film. Sir Ben Kingsley returns as Trevor Slattery, the hapless thespian last seen masquerading as the Mandarin. The series, which lands in full on 27 January, offers a playful, self-aware take on the superhero genre, standing out in a year otherwise dominated by bigger Marvel names.
Meanwhile, Percy Jackson & the Olympians continues its second run, with the final three episodes promising to up the ante. Percy, played by Walker Scobell, finds himself on Polyphemus’s island alongside Annabeth, while Grover is off in search of the Fleece. The season has leaned into the scale of its mythological world, but also spends time on Percy’s relationships, especially with his half-brother Tyson. The last episode is set to drop on 21 January, bringing the season to what looks to be a rather explosive close.
Classic Films and New Series Premieres
For those in the mood for a bit of nostalgia, the Indiana Jones collection arrives on 1 January, with all four films available to stream. There’s also Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and The Big Year, both landing on 2 January, offering a mix of adventure and quirky drama. Nature fans can look forward to the debut of Cheetahs Up Close with Bertie Gregory, while animal lovers might fancy Incredible Northern Vets, which returns for a second series on 4 January.
Elsewhere, the streamer is rolling out a steady stream of new episodes and premieres. I AM BOXER continues its run with fresh instalments throughout the month, and the animated crowd-pleaser Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends returns for a fourth series on 10 January. The Artful Dodger, a new series, also makes its debut, promising a fresh spin on familiar Dickensian territory.
Family Favourites and Animated Delights
Disney Plus isn’t short on family-friendly fare this month. Phineas and Ferb is back with a fifth series, and Minnie’s Bow-Toons: Pet Hotel offers new episodes for younger viewers. Playdate with Winnie the Pooh returns for a third series of shorts, and Disney Jr. Ariel – The Little Mermaid kicks off a new season on 28 January. For those after a bit of light-hearted fun, America’s Funniest Home Videos brings in new seasons from 17 January.
Animation fans can also look forward to Theme Song Takeover, which launches its fifth season on 9 January, and Agent P, Under C: Shorts, with all episodes dropping on 16 January. Pupstruction Construction rounds out the month, with the full series available from 30 January.
Noteworthy Film Releases and Final Highlights
Venom: Let There Be Carnage makes its way to the platform on 22 January, adding a bit of superhero edge to the month’s film line-up. The Tale of Silyan, a new film, arrives on 9 January, while Pole to Pole with Will Smith offers a globe-trotting documentary experience from 14 January. For those keeping up with ongoing series, Made in Korea continues with new episodes, and Hey A.J.! launches its first series mid-month.
With such a varied slate, Disney Plus is clearly aiming to keep its audience entertained through the winter. Whether you’re after blockbuster action, family animation, or a bit of classic adventure, there’s no shortage of options to stream this January.
