Disney+ Just Revealed When Paul Bettany Returns as Vision
Paul Bettany’s Vision returns October 14, 2026, when Marvel Television’s VisionQuest launches exclusively on Disney+. The date was revealed during Disney’s 2026 Upfronts.
Get ready for another chapter in Marvel's increasingly tangled web of streaming shows: VisionQuest now officially has a Disney+ debut date, and yes, Paul Bettany is back in android form. Marvel broke the news at Disney's recent 2026 Upfronts – think of it as show-and-tell for advertisers, but with more spandex and less elementary school energy.
Mark Your Calendars (If You Plan That Far Ahead)
October 14, 2026 is the official premiere day for VisionQuest on Disney+. Bettany himself was tapped to drop the announcement in New York City, reminding everyone that, yes, Vision survived yet another round of Marvel's complex resurrections.
The Cast (and a Few Comebacks)
So who’s making a return—or showing up for the first time?
- Paul Bettany reprises Vision, picking up after WandaVision where the android is still figuring out what happened to his brain (and his humanity).
- James Spader is back as Ultron, which is a nice callback to Avengers: Age of Ultron from 2015. Because, apparently, killer AI never really dies in the MCU.
- Todd Stashwick joins the series as Paladin, a mercenary (read: morally flexible anti-hero) with an eye on Vision's tech.
- Faran Tahir returns as Raza, the Ten Rings boss fans first met all the way back in 2008's Iron Man—which is a deep pull even for Marvel.
- Lauren Morais comes aboard as Lisa Molinari, a character linked to Thomas Shepherd (played by Ruaridh Mollica).
- Diane Morgan takes on the role of an associate to Paladin—so expect her to be somewhere between sidekick and partner-in-crime.
- And rounding it out: Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, James D'Arcy, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire, and Mollica himself—all in as yet undisclosed roles.
Who’s Running the Show?
Terry Matalas steps in as showrunner after wrapping up work on Star Trek: Picard. He’s got the sci-fi chops, so expect some cerebral storylines mixed in with the usual Marvel action.
How Does This Fit Into the Marvel Timeline?
Marvel calls VisionQuest the final act in its so-called WandaVision trilogy. To recap:
- WandaVision kicked things off in 2021.
- Agatha All Along is set for 2024 as a continuation.
- VisionQuest finally lands in 2026 to (allegedly) wrap it all up.
The plot picks up after Vision's resurrection in WandaVision (following his untimely end courtesy of Thanos in Infinity War), and focuses on Vision trying to piece together his identity—again. Apparently, being an android means endless self-discovery.
Any Footage Yet?
Disney did preview a trailer for industry insiders at the Upfronts, suggesting the show is set to tie in threads from both previous series. The rest of us will have to wait for the trailer to hit the public internet (or, you know, leak from somewhere).
'Marvel fans, you're not prepared for what's coming,' Bettany teased from the stage.
Not that Marvel fans are ever really prepared—but hey, that’s half the fun, right?
