Deadpool Star Stefan Kapičić Joins Keanu Reeves in Tim Miller’s Mind-Bending Time-Loop Thriller
Deadpool’s Colossus star Stefan Kapičić joins Keanu Reeves for Tim Miller’s time-loop action thriller.
Here’s a combo you probably didn’t have on your 2027 movie bingo card: Deadpool’s Colossus and John Wick, stuck together in a Caribbean shark-smuggling time loop. Kind of wild, right? Let’s break down what’s going on with this new project, because there’s a lot of moving parts—and a couple of familiar faces if you follow action movies at all.
So, What Is This Movie?
Tim Miller—the guy who brought us the original Deadpool—is behind the camera for an untitled time-loop action flick (it used to be called 'Shiver') with Keanu Reeves in the main role. Yes, that Keanu Reeves. The basic premise? Reeves is a smuggler who gets double-crossed during a job in the Caribbean, which drops him right into a bloody, endless loop: dead bodies everywhere, pissed-off mercenaries, and, bafflingly, sharks in the mix. Because of course there are.
If that gives you flashbacks to 'Edge of Tomorrow' (Tom Cruise fighting aliens on repeat) or even 'The Shallows' (Blake Lively vs. a shark, mostly solo), you’re not far off. Expect lots of action, waterlogged chaos, and presumably a lot of Keanu confusion.
Who’s Actually in This Thing?
The fun casting news: Stefan Kapicic—most famous for playing Colossus in all three Deadpool movies—is reuniting with Tim Miller for this one. His exact role is under wraps, but rumor is he might be butting heads with Keanu’s character. I wouldn’t mind seeing Colossus try to punch Neo, to be honest.
- Keanu Reeves – The unlucky smuggler stuck in the loop
- Stefan Kapicic – Mysterious role, possible villain/antagonist
- Callie Cooke (F1)
- Nicholas Duvernay (The White Lotus)
- Steven Waddington (Robin Hood)
- Abraham Popoola (Slow Horses)
- Bobby Holland Hanton (Now You See Me: Now You Don’t)
- Anastasia Safonov (Eternity)
That’s a global cast, and if you don’t recognize all those names, fine—they’re a mix of action vets and up-and-comers.
Shooting Details—And Yes, There Are Sharks
Miller is directing from a script by Ian Shorr (who wrote the Mark Wahlberg sci-fi movie 'Infinite'). The movie’s currently being filmed in the Dominican Republic, with massive water tanks involved for those big “open sea” scenes—so, the sharks better look good. After the Caribbean part wraps, production will move over to the U.K.
The film is aiming for a theatrical release on August 13, 2027, so don’t hold your breath for a trailer anytime soon.
Just Who Is Stefan Kapicic, Anyway?
Besides making metallic snark in all three Deadpool films, Kapicic has bounced around plenty of big properties. He’s lent his voice to Netflix’s animated anthology 'Love, Death & Robots' (also a Tim Miller joint), popped up in 'Better Call Saul' with a recurring role, and was part of the doomed crew in 'The Last Voyage of the Demeter.' Gamers might recognize his voice as Nikolai in the last three 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare' games, too. Basically, if you watch action or play shooters, you’ve probably heard the guy.
What’s Next for Keanu?
Reeves isn’t slowing down. His next movie is 'Outcome,' a dark comedy from Jonah Hill, dropping on Apple TV April 10. Keanu plays Reef Hawk (absolutely a Hollywood name), a beloved actor who gets blackmailed with some career-ruining video, then goes on a classic Keanu 'figure out what the hell is happening' quest with some help from Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer as his pals, and Jonah Hill himself as his crisis lawyer.
Sounds like a weird but fun detour before Keanu inevitably ends up covered in fake blood and surrounded by sharks for Miller’s movie.
