Chris Pratt reckons Prime Video’s The Terminal List has a much longer life in it than you’d think — and spin-offs are on the table too.

Amazon loves a long-running action series, and The Terminal List is clearly aiming to be their next big marathon. Chris Pratt's back as the not-terribly-subtle-named James Reece in the latest batch of episodes, and it sounds like he's not packing it in any time soon – in fact, he reckons he's in this for life.

Chris Pratt Dreams of ‘Terminal’ Longevity

In a chat with ComingSoon, Pratt was refreshingly open about his plans to stick around as Reece for as long as there's material to adapt. The show's source material is Jack Carr’s action thriller series – currently clocking in at eight books. The first season covered book one, and Season 2 now adapts True Believer, the next in the line-up.

Here's how Pratt put it when asked if he wanted the series to keep covering the rest of Carr's novels:

Yeah, I want it to. James Reece’s last mission is going to be he’s going to eat a steak without his dentures in. Sorry, Amazon, this is for life.

That 'for life' bit might give the Amazon budget team palpitations, though with these viewing figures, they probably won't mind.

Spin-offs Already in the Works?

The chat didn't stop at just the main show. Pratt hinted there’s serious talk about expanding the Terminal List universe. There are apparently several spin-off ideas swirling around, focused on some of the supporting cast and connected storylines. He specifically called out stories like Cry Havoc and Dark Wolf as spin-off material, and dropped a hint about wanting to learn more about the Hastings family and their ranch. The bottom line: the writer’s room is busy cooking up all sorts of franchise plans in the background.

What Happens in Season 2?

Season 2 of The Terminal List picks up with Reece living in exile – which, if you’ve seen the first lot, isn’t really surprising given the kill tally. But peace and quiet goes out the window when a string of terrorist attacks hit London. Reece is dragged back into active duty, this time on a mission that runs from Langley to Moscow.

The marketing blurb says this one’s a personal redemption story. Reece tries to figure out what to do with his life now his original vengeance list is all crossed off, but – surprise – he stumbles onto another far-reaching conspiracy, one that even involves his own family history.

  • Chris Pratt as James Reece
  • Tom Hopper joins as Raife Hastings
  • Constance Wu returns as Katie Buranek
  • Dar Salim as Mohammed Farooq
  • Luke Hemsworth as Jules Landry
  • Gabriel Luna as Freddy Strain
  • Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Arnold Vosloo, Martin Sensmeier, Shiraz Tzarfati, Jeremy Bobb round out the major supporting players

The show’s a joint effort from Amazon MGM Studios, MRC, and Civic Center Media. All eight episodes of Season 2 are now up on Prime Video, if you feel like a full-throttle, international revenge tour right from the sofa.

All episodes in The Terminal List Season 2 dropped at once on Prime Video.
