Chad Powers is suiting up for a Season 2 comeback on Hulu—Deadline just narrowed the release window, as star Glen Powell readies his return and co-creator Michael Waldron re-ups with 20th Television.

If you missed Chad Powers, get ready—he's coming back sooner than you might think. Hulu's quirky football comedy starring Glen Powell officially has a Season 2 release window, and it's not that far off.

Chad Powers: Back On The Field This Fall

You can circle 'this Fall' on your calendar, because that's when Season 2 is set to hit Hulu. That comes straight from Michael Waldron, the show's co-creator, showrunner, and resident guy-with-his-hands-in-everything at 20th Television. Waldron essentially confirmed it via a statement (see below) after re-upping his own deal with the studio.

'I’m proud to continue my partnership with the home team at Disney...I’d like to use this opportunity to remind you to tune into Chad Powers Season 2, coming to Hulu this Fall!'

A Quick Refresher: The Setup

The show’s whole premise is kind of wild, if you haven't watched: When star quarterback Russ Holliday gets himself banned from college football (shocker: bad behavior), he reinvents himself as Chad Powers—a charming, mustachioed nobody who joins a struggling Southern football team. Powell does double duty as both the title goofball and a disgraced sports jock in hiding. And if this all feels a little 'Saturday Night Live' to you, that's no accident—it actually spun out of an Eli Manning sketch that aired on ESPN+ as part of Eli’s Places. Ridiculous sports comedy with heart, basically.

Who’s Actually Behind All This?

  • Glen Powell: playing Chad, executive producing (his first big lead role on TV, after popping up in 'Scream Queens' years ago)
  • Michael Waldron: co-creator, showrunner, also directing four of six episodes for Season 2—handpicked his own premiere and finale
  • Perry Mattfeld: plays Ricky
  • Quentin Plair: Coach Byrd
  • Wynn Everett: Tricia
  • Frankie A. Rodriguez: Danny
  • Steve Zahn: Jake Hudson
  • On the producing side, we get even weirder (in a good way): Powell's production company, Barnstorm, is in. Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, and ESPN are throwing in their hats, plus both Manning brothers—yep, Eli and Peyton—are executive producing. The thing’s a 20th Television project, with Waldron and Adam Fasullo producing.

    What’s New For Season 2?

Not a *ton* of plot reveals yet (classic), but with Waldron calling the shots and directing most of the season, expect the same blend of underdog sports shenanigans and comedic identity fraud. With that crowd in the writers' room, you can bet it'll stay as offbeat as ever. If you like your football ridiculous and your fake mustaches squeaky clean, mark your calendar. Chad's back this fall.
