Carpani first found fame portraying Jodi Fountain in the much-loved Australian series McLeod’s Daughters, a role she held from 2001 to 2008. Her time on the programme established her as a household name across the country. After leaving the show, she made the decision to relocate to the United States, seeking to broaden her career prospects. This move required her to rebuild her professional life from the ground up.

During her years abroad, Carpani appeared in a variety of American productions, including NCIS: Los Angeles, The Glades, and Against the Wall. She also featured in several television films and took a part in the 2020 film The Way Back, which starred Ben Affleck. Eventually, she returned to Australia, where she secured a recurring role as Claudia Salini in the long-running soap Home and Away in 2024.

“It is with great sadness that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness, in the early hours of Sunday 7th December.”

The family also shared that the funeral would be a private affair, scheduled for 19 December, attended only by close relatives and friends.

“The family requests privacy at this very difficult time and will be making no further statements.”
