A Hollywood legend has a role reserved on The Terminal List, Chris Pratt has confirmed — but only if he comes on board.

If you've been following Chris Pratt's run from sitcom goofball to action juggernaut, you won't be surprised he's already thinking several moves ahead with The Terminal List. After mixing it up with just about every big name Hollywood's got—Denzel, Brad Pitt, Downey Jr., even Morgan Freeman—Pratt's now got his sights set a little closer to home for his next dream co-star.

I've read every book. There's a character in there that I would really, really love for him to play. I've discussed it with him. And should we be blessed and honoured to be able to get that book into production? There's no one else I would want to do it. And if he were available and willing, man, that would be 100% epic.

That's Pratt talking about none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger—his father-in-law, in case you'd forgotten. Yes, Pratt thinks Arnie's tailor-made for a specific character in Jack Carr's thrillers—but no, he's not spilling which one. Fans of the books are busily trying to guess: will it be a grizzled mentor to James Reece, or perhaps a villain you absolutely don't want to mess with?

What's Left for The Terminal List?

At this point, the show's adapted the first two Reece books—The Terminal List and True Believer. There are seven main books out, and the eighth lands next year, so there's loads of raw material left to play with. That’s six more stories (assuming they don't skip any) where Schwarzenegger could parachute in with a big entrance.

Jack Carr has seven Reece novels published, and an eighth set for release next year.

Interestingly, Schwarzenegger isn't entirely ruling out teaming up with his famous family, but he's not doing it for the sake of it. Last year, he told E! News he'd happily work with Pratt and his son Patrick (who popped up in Terminal List Season 1), but he's only interested if the script's genuinely good—and not just an excuse to put all the Schwarzeneggers and Pratts in the same room. No stunt casting, thanks very much.

Their Schedules: Getting Busy

Neither Arnie nor Pratt are exactly idle at the moment. Schwarzenegger's got a string of projects in the pipeline: the martial arts caper Kung Fury 2 is finished and waiting release; The Kellys, an action thriller, is in production; plus there's his new Christmas film The Man with the Bag, dropping on Prime Video this December. Over on Pratt's side, he's signed on for The Garfield Movie 2—yes, the lasagna-loving cat—and he's also teased a potential Star-Lord return with a solo MCU film.

It's a full plate for both, but Pratt seems intent on recruiting Arnie for The Terminal List as soon as the planets align. Given the enduring appetite for bleak revenge tales and A-list casting, you can sort of see why.
