A24 has locked September 4, 2026 for Onslaught, with Adria Arjona taking on a squad of near-superhuman mercenaries. The first trailer is playing now, but it hasn’t landed online yet.

If you were hoping A24 might one day bankroll a proper action film with more bite than their usual arthouse output—well, they've just slapped a date on it. Get this: their latest is 'Onslaught', an action picture where Adria Arjona apparently takes on a bunch of mercenaries with powers that make your average henchman look a bit silly.

Onslaught's Outing: When and Where

The release date is in—mark September 4, 2026, if you're the sort who sets reminders three years out. This news actually broke in the new trailer, which, just to make things awkward, isn't floating about online yet. They've been running it at screenings for A24's 'Backrooms', so if you fancy sneak peeks, you'll have to brave that one in cinemas for now.

The Plot, in a Nutshell

Here’s the gist: the whole thing is set around a trailer park that's parked conveniently close to a military base. Should be a lovely view, right? Not quite. A batch of mercenaries, who just so happen to be test subjects for some government experiment gone south, break loose and start causing absolute chaos. Not subtle chaos, either—think 'unstoppable force' with a sci-fi tinge. Arjona plays a mother in the park who isn’t having any of it, so she and the residents actually square up to fight back. If you’ve ever wanted to see trailer park residents vs. human weapons, well, you’re getting it.

Cast and Crew Breakdown

  • Adria Arjona leads, playing the trailer park mum with unreal nerves.
  • Dan Stevens, who is apparently contractually obliged to appear in every A24 thriller these days.
  • Alex Pereira—yes, the ex-UFC champ—swapping gloves for what I imagine are some very silly action sequences.
  • Michael Biehn (somewhere James Cameron is probably smiling fondly).
  • Drew Starkey, Rebecca Hall (nice get, honestly), Eric Wareheim, Maurice Green, and Reginald VelJohnson round out the supporting cast.

Who's Behind The Madness?

The film's helmed by Adam Wingard, with a script by his go-to writing partner, Simon Barrett. If those names are vaguely familiar, it's probably from their breakout with 'The Guest' a decade ago (which also starred Dan Stevens, so there’s your reunion). Since then they've dabbled in everything from 'Blair Witch' reboots to the more bombastic end of the monster movie spectrum with 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire'. This does make you wonder how weird they're planning to go here—experimented-on mercenaries aren’t exactly subtle stuff for these two.

The Star on the Rise

As for Adria Arjona, if you recognise her but can’t quite place the name, it’s probably from 'Pacific Rim Uprising', 'Hit Man', 'Blink Twice', or the comedy 'Splitsville'. Her slate is about to get a lot busier: she’s booked for the new 'Thomas Crown Affair' remake, as well as popping up in 'Man of Tomorrow', the Superman follow-up that DC is betting big on.

'Onslaught' stomps into cinemas on 4 September 2026, with Arjona, Stevens, and some ex-fighters squaring off under Adam Wingard's direction. The trailer's only in front of 'Backrooms' for now, so if you're hoping for online leaks, you're out of luck.
