The penultimate hour of Will Trent Season 4 drops soon, as the team follows Amanda’s trail from Our Last Dance—and with Season 5 already confirmed, the hunt is only heating up.

Ok, so we’re already closing in on the end of Will Trent Season 4, and Episode 17 is about to drop. Not only is this the second-to-last episode of the season, but ABC has already locked in Season 5, so if you’re all-in on murder mysteries with southern drawls and lots of procedural drama, you don’t have to stress about cancellation. But let’s get into what you actually care about: what just happened on the show, when the next episode airs, and where you can catch it.

Previously On: Death, Ultimatums, and Dead Ends

If you skipped Episode 16, you missed some high-stakes chaos. Will and his team were retracing Amanda’s moves, and eventually learned she had teamed up with the FBI to hunt down Adelaide. Plot twist: Amanda ends up dead, killed by a guy named Commander—who, yeah, is working for Adelaide. So things are already escalating.

Will finally gets his hands on Adelaide. And in drama-queen fashion, she gives him a psychologically messed-up choice: he can kill himself to save his uncle Antonio, or kill her and never find out where Antonio is stashed. Will, being Will, goes for the third option—they call it agency for a reason—and ends up killing Adelaide instead. After all that, he teams up with Faith, puts the pieces together, and tracks down Antonio. Mission accomplished, but with a body count.

    • Still Wondering What Will Trent Is?

For anyone who wandered in late—or if you’ve forgotten why Will is the way he is—here’s the official gist:

'Special Agent Will Trent was abandoned as a baby and had a pretty rough time surviving Atlanta’s swamped foster care system. Now he solves cases at a freakishly high rate—basically, to make sure nobody else gets chewed up the way he did.'

(And yes, that’s about as chipper as the show gets.)

      Final Notes

So that’s where we’re at: One episode left this season after this week, bodies piling up, family drama everywhere, and a renewal in the bag. Hit up ABC or Hulu for the next one—assuming you want to know what happens before Twitter spoils it for you.
