Marvel Studios’ new reboot has reportedly lined up its next Cyclops — stepping into the visor after James Marsden and Tye Sheridan.

So, here we go again — Marvel Studios have finally locked in a new Cyclops for their fresh X-Men reboot movie. No surprises, everyone’s been waiting for news on when the mutants would properly stroll into the MCU. Now we know who’ll be at the front of the pack (visor and all): Kit Connor.

Kit Connor is the third actor to take on Cyclops, following James Marsden and Tye Sheridan.

Who’s Under the Visor This Time?

If you’ve watched a bit of British telly over the past few years, you probably know Kit Connor as Nick Nelson from Heartstopper on Netflix — the one with the rugby and all the teenage yearning. He’s also lent his voice to The Wild Robot, did a stint in His Dark Materials, and had a part in Rocketman. Honestly, he’s been busy for someone barely in his twenties — so not exactly a wild pick for an MCU lead, but a bit younger than we’ve seen before.

Cyclops: The Hand-Me-Down Helmet

Cyclops has already been around the superhero cinematic block a few times. The first bloke to play him was James Marsden, who suited up for the original X-Men film series (with the blue leather and everything), and — oddly enough — he’s back for Avengers: Doomsday. Then there’s Tye Sheridan, who gave us laser-eye angst in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse and again in 2019’s Dark Phoenix, the last mainline Fox X-Men outing. Sheridan even had a blink-and-you-miss-it moment in Deadpool 2 back in 2018, with a quick cameo for good measure.

  • Kit Connor is Cyclops in the MCU X-Men reboot
  • James Marsden played Cyclops in the original films and reprises the role in Avengers: Doomsday
  • Tye Sheridan portrayed Cyclops in Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, and made a cameo in Deadpool 2

As for what Marvel actually plans to do with all these Scott Summerses running about... let’s just say we’ll be waiting a bit longer for those details. For now, that’s what’s landed.
