Where is Colin from Accounts filmed? Fans keep guessing the wrong city
The breweries, the terraces, the general inner-city cool of it — plenty of viewers watch Colin from Accounts and confidently place it in Melbourne. Understandable. Also wrong.
Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall's comedy is filmed on location in Sydney, almost entirely in the inner west — Marrickville, Camperdown, Leichhardt, Redfern, and Ultimo — and the real places are all visitable.
The locations you can actually go to
- Gordon's brewery, Echo Park — the old Stockade Brew Co building on Cadogan Street, Marrickville. The screen version kept the real bar's oak barrels, 10-metre bar, and green banquette seating; the actual brewery closed in 2023.
- Gordon's house — 33 Hopetoun Street, Camperdown: a former sewing factory turned three-bedroom home, recognisable by its brick front and green garage door. It sold for $2.9 million back in February 2010.
- Ashley's hospital — the medical scenes use the University of Technology Sydney's training hospital in Ultimo.
- The vet clinic and the neurologist — both filmed at the Old Gladesville Hospital on Punt Road, Gladesville.
Why Marrickville made sense
The suburb has one of Sydney's densest brewery scenes, which is exactly why Gordon's workplace landed there. As Brammall put it:
The area "just made sense as the setting for the brewery," he told Sydney Confidential.
The production details
Season 1 was shot between 2021 and March 2022, mid-pandemic. Season 2 filmed from November 2023 and aired from 30 May 2024, and production on season 3 got underway in 2026 — again in Sydney. Dyer and Brammall, who are married in real life, actually live in the United States, so every season involves the two creators flying across the Pacific to shoot a show about a Sydney brewery.
