What’s the one fan question that won’t go away? Inde Navarrette names it
Inde Navarrette has addressed the burning Obsession fan question — and she’s delighted by the wild theories circling her character’s fate.
If you follow new horror films, you'll know Obsession's been sparking a fair bit of noise — especially thanks to Inde Navarrette as Nikki Freeman. And if you thought the audience was content just watching, think again. The chat around Nikki's fate has properly taken on a life of its own, with theories flying about like nobody's business.
In conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Navarrette summed it up: "Obviously everybody is like, 'Does Nikki go to jail?'"
That seems to be the number one thing eating away at fans. But she says most people aren't really grilling her for answers directly. Instead, they come at her with their pet theories, as if detective work is half the fun. Navarrette actually finds it all pretty brilliant — apparently, watching these wild interpretations crop up is just as entertaining for her as starring in the film itself.
She even pointed out how she gets it, because she does the same with other movies. The only difference is, this time around, she actually knows how things play out for a change. So sitting back and watching everyone else take wild swings at the ending is its own kind of enjoyable.
Breakout Role
Worth remembering, Navarrette's not some fresh face — you might have seen her in Superman & Lois or 13 Reasons Why. But Obsession is what's put her firmly on the horror map. The film, directed by Curry Barker, first dropped at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025. Since then it's been picking up some serious critical momentum — Navarrette nabbed awards at the Seattle International Film Festival and the Astra Midseason Movie Awards. Not exactly a quiet debut.
Obsession premiered at TIFF in September 2025 and quickly turned Navarrette into one of horror's most watched names.
