What MasterChef was Tilly Ramsay on? Not the one her dad runs
With a surname like Ramsay, Tilly could have walked into almost any TV kitchen on the planet. When she finally tied on a contestant's apron, though, she picked one about as far from her dad's as geography allows. Here's exactly which MasterChef she was on — and how she did.
The short answer
Tilly Ramsay was a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef Australia, series 2, which aired on Network 10 from 10 October to 22 November 2021. She was 19 — the youngest of the ten celebrities — and she finished as runner-up across the 13-episode series.
Crucially, the judges were Andy Allen, Melissa Leong, and Jock Zonfrillo. Not Gordon. Her father fronts the American MasterChef and MasterChef Junior — so competing Down Under meant cooking without dad marking her plates, even if he'd guested in the MasterChef Australia kitchen before.
How she did
Very well. Tilly made it all the way to the final, where she lost out to former AFL captain Nick Riewoldt. Filming ran from July 2021, and she squeezed it in around the first year of a psychology degree at Nottingham University.
Then, in the same year, she flew home and did Strictly Come Dancing — series 19, partnered with Nikita Kuzmin. Not a quiet 2021.

The 2021 run wasn't her first brush with the franchise, and it definitely wasn't her last:
- Guest, MasterChef Junior US (2015 and 2018) — appeared on her dad's show as a kid, popping up in seasons 3 and 6.
- Contestant, Celebrity MasterChef Australia (2021) — her one competitive run, ending as runner-up.
- Judge, MasterChef Junior: Home for the Holidays (2023) — the Fox holiday special, her first judging gig.
- Judge, MasterChef Junior season 9 (2024) — a full-time seat on the panel, which aired from 4 March to 20 May 2024.
So she ended up on dad's show anyway
That season 9 panel put Tilly right next to Gordon, alongside Aarón Sánchez and Daphne Oz — meaning she competed on the one MasterChef her father had nothing to do with, then took a judge's seat on the one he built.
For the record: season 9 turned out to be MasterChef Junior's last, wrapping on 20 May 2024. So Tilly can claim something Gordon can't — a MasterChef grand final. She just had to fly 10,000 miles to reach it.
