Tom Holland is reteaming with Oscar winner Thomas Vinterberg on a secret long-form project, even as he lines up The Odyssey and his next Spider-Man movie.

If you thought Tom Holland's calendar was already overflowing, think again. The Spider-Man and Uncharted star has quietly lined up another major project, and this time he's teaming back up with Oscar-winning Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg. Details are almost non-existent, but there are enough intriguing hints to get the rumour mill spinning.

Holland Drops Hints – But That’s All You’re Getting for Now

In a new sit-down with Kino DK, Holland gave a bit of insight into what’s brewing, at least as much as he’s allowed:

'I absolutely love Thomas. We are working on another project together, which is really exciting. And I love developing with him. I think he’s really smart. The way he kind of breaks down the character, the way he can bring heart to a story, is kind of unmatched. So I’m very excited about the idea of working with him long-form. But when I did work with him on the commercial, we had the best time.'

Pressed for specifics about the project? Holland shut that down straight away: 'No. It’s a secret. It’s early days.'

The Vinterberg Factor

If you’re not fully up to speed on Thomas Vinterberg: he’s got a pretty serious CV. Past credits include The Biggest Heroes, It’s All About Love, The Hunt, and The Commune. His most recent film, Another Round (2020), starred Mads Mikkelsen and absolutely cleaned up at festivals and with critics—currently sitting at 93% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, and that’s after more than 230 reviews. It took home the Oscar for Best International Feature Film, and Vinterberg himself even landed a Best Director nomination. In case you’re curious: The Hunt also nabbed an International Feature nod back in 2014 but lost out to Sorrentino’s The Great Beauty.

This Isn’t Their First Dance

Holland and Vinterberg have actually worked together before, though you probably missed it unless you’re religiously following high-end fashion ads. They teamed up for a Prada commercial which dropped in 2025 (yes, the fashion industry does live in the future). Despite the small scale, Holland clearly enjoyed himself, calling it 'the best time.'

So, What Exactly Is This Mysterious New Project?

Here’s where things get a bit murky. Holland describes it as 'long-form', which strongly suggests this will be a full-length film—unless Vinterberg is suddenly keen to direct, say, a prestige TV series or multi-part epic about Dutch cheese or similar. But since neither of them is saying more, it’s all speculation for now.

  • Tom Holland’s on-screen future: He’s already got The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day due out this year, so whatever this Vinterberg collab turns into, Holland clearly isn’t easing up any time soon.
