The Madison is almost back. In a new chat with The Playlist, Ben Schnetzer teases a season 2 window and says season 3 is already gearing up.

Right, for those who’ve been waiting impatiently to get some proper news about The Madison—Paramount+’s megahit Western that's all cowboys, drama, and the occasional blizzard—you’ll finally have a clearer idea when season 2 is dropping, plus an interesting morsel on the show’s production future.

Here’s What Ben Schnetzer Let Slip

Ben Schnetzer, who you’ll know as Sheriff Van Davis (the bloke with the gruff exterior and a hat that deserves its own trailer), has been chatting to The Playlist. And what he’s revealed is not exactly an airtight schedule… but it is at least a glimpse behind the curtain.

On when production ramps up again, Schnetzer reckons we’re looking at the early bit of 2027 for season 3 to start filming. In his own words:

'I think it’s going to be the top of '27. I think they’re kind of timing it with the rollout of when they drop season 2.'

Which, if you read between the lines, means don’t pop the popcorn just yet for season 3. But here’s the twist—season 2’s premiere will allegedly land right around when the cameras fire up on the next batch. Of course, Schnetzer’s quick to hedge his bets: nothing official from Paramount+ so far.

He sums up the mood nicely:

'Until they tell me I’m… So, I’m just stoked we’re going to come back for season 3.'

Quick Primer: How Did We Get Here?

  • March 2026: Season 1 arrives on Paramount+. Six episodes. Featured Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, in case you needed reminding. Massive numbers—over a billion minutes watched in the first week.
  • The response was so big that Paramount+ wasted no time commissioning both a second and third season.
  • Filming on season 1 actually happened way back in autumn 2024. Then, by autumn 2025, the cast had wrapped season 2.
  • There were some workarounds: Russell and Matthew Fox did their scenes separately, mainly due to scheduling headaches and genuinely brutal Montana winters. (Anyone who’s dreamt of shooting a Western in three feet of snow—yeah, think again.)
  • Oh, and Fox isn’t coming back for season 2. Apparently he’s just not up for the long-haul TV grind—fair enough, really.

And the Cast?

If you thought Pfeiffer, Russell, and Fox were the only ones in the saloon, think again. Beau Garrett, Patrick J. Adams, Kevin Zegers, and Will Arnett are all on the supporting roster. Schnetzer himself is off soon to film The White Lotus season 4 in the French Riviera, before he saddles back up for more Madison drama.

If you fancy catching up, The Madison is streaming right now on Paramount+.
