Netflix has put The Inbetweeners 3 into production, after the second film was staged as the gang's send-off
Netflix says production is underway on a new movie reviving a beloved British sitcom — and yes, it’s the one you’re thinking of.
Well, here we go again. Netflix has just confirmed they're kicking off production for The Inbetweeners 3 — that's right, a brand new film for the infamously awkward (and, let's be honest, weirdly endearing) lads we've followed since the original British sitcom days. Yes, really. The Inbetweeners are back for a third go, this time with the mighty streaming giant steering the ship.
The Inbetweeners 3 is now officially in production for Netflix.
According to Netflix's announcement, the project is now officially underway. So, if you'd thought we'd seen the last of Will, Simon, Jay and Neil's antics after the second film—well, you were wrong. The original sitcom ran from 2008 to 2010, already launched two films, and basically burned itself into UK comedy history. Now it's charging headlong into another round, and I'm genuinely a bit surprised given how definitively the last film seemed like a send-off.

This isn't just a reunion for a nostalgic one-off: the entire Inbetweeners cast is expected to return, though Netflix have stopped short of spelling out exactly who’s signed on the dotted line. No official word yet on the plot (or what’ll drag the gang back together this time), and let’s face it, any guesses would probably be just as cringe as the show itself. But the core thing is: we’re getting more, for better or worse.
So, for anyone who’s spent the past decade quoting the show at house parties, this is your moment.
