Serial Stage Invader Ejected from Lady Gaga’s Brisbane Show
A notorious Australian prankster, previously jailed for storming Ariana Grande’s stage, was escorted out of Lady Gaga’s Brisbane concert after a failed attempt to disguise himself.
An Australian man with a history of disrupting high-profile events found himself removed from a Lady Gaga concert in Brisbane, after security recognised him despite his efforts to go incognito. Johnson Wen, aged 26, had only recently completed a short prison sentence for causing a disturbance at an Ariana Grande event, yet his penchant for public mischief appears undiminished.
Repeat Offender’s Track Record
Wen, who has become something of a minor celebrity online under the alias ‘Pyjamaman’, has made a habit of gatecrashing major concerts and public gatherings. His previous exploits include uninvited appearances at performances by Katy Perry, The Weeknd, and The Chainsmokers, as well as an incident at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Most recently, he pleaded guilty to being a public nuisance after charging the stage at the Wicked: For Good premiere in Singapore on 13 November. The court handed down a nine-day custodial sentence, after which Wen was deported back to Australia.
Attempted Disguise Fails to Fool Security
At Lady Gaga’s show at SunCorp Stadium on 9 December, Wen attempted to blend in with the crowd by donning a wig and sunglasses. However, his disguise proved insufficient. Security staff quickly identified him and escorted him from the venue before the performance began, to the audible approval of the audience. The crowd’s reaction was one of clear relief, with many cheering as he was led away.
Public Response and Courtroom Promises
Wen’s removal was captured on film and widely shared online, with social media users expressing both amusement and exasperation at his antics. He later posted on Instagram,
“Got kicked out of Lady Gaga concert. The show doesn’t start till 8pm. The early fans were booing me.”
His courtroom appearance in Singapore had seen him assure the judge that he would not repeat such behaviour. The judge, sceptical, asked,
“Are you paying lip service or is this your intention?”
Wen replied,
“Yes, I’m going to stop.”
Online Reactions and Ongoing Notoriety
Clips of Wen’s ejection from the Brisbane concert quickly circulated on social media, with one user exclaiming,
“YALL THEY GOT HIM!!!!!!!!!”
The incident has only added to Wen’s notoriety, as his attempts to outwit security continue to attract both criticism and a certain degree of fascination from the public.
