Fresh off Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, Rebecca Ferguson is stoking speculation of a comeback, hinting Kaulo Chiriklo’s story in the Shelby saga may not be over.

If you watched the new Peaky Blinders movie and immediately started wondering whether Rebecca Ferguson is sticking around for more chaos in this universe, you’re not alone. Because after her performance as Kaulo Chiriklo in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, she’s got fans buzzing—and honestly, she isn’t exactly shutting down those rumors, either.

Will Kaulo Be Back? Ferguson Isn’t Ruling It Out…

So here’s the deal: Ferguson was asked directly by Radio Times if Kaulo could pop up in future Peaky Blinders stories. She tossed out a classic non-answer:

"I never say no."

Translation: they’re keeping their options open. But Ferguson did add a little philosophy to it, basically saying—look, not every character has to come back for more.

"I think that Kaulo was so essential for this film, but I don’t always feel that a character needs to have a continuation; we can be satisfied with not being satisfied."

In other words, don’t expect her to pull out the Kaulo wig at the drop of a hat, but also—who knows?

Kaulo’s Big Role in the Movie (And Why She’s a Wild Card)

For the uninitiated: Ferguson’s Kaulo drops into The Immortal Man as this swirling, mysterious Romany presence who’s tied tightly to the Shelby family’s fate. She’s not subtle, either—her moves shape both Tommy Shelby and his son, Duke, at some pretty crucial points.

  • We find out Kaulo has deep links to Duke’s past—she’s got her own agenda and she knows how to twist the knife.
  • She pushes Duke hard, nudging him toward seizing more power inside the Shelby clan—even if it means going up against Tommy himself.
  • Tommy catches on to what she’s doing, but by the end, Kaulo is still standing, and she’s right there next to Duke as he level-ups into a leadership role.

There’s a clear parallel here: Kaulo almost feels like the new Polly Gray (RIP), positioned to be the brains—or at least a big influence—for whatever comes next. So, yeah, fans have thoughts about where her storyline could go from here.

The Kaulo-Duke Dynamic: Tough Love with Zero Filters

Ferguson also talked about her scenes with Barry Keoghan’s Duke Shelby, which, honestly, are some of the film’s best. She describes their relationship as complex, where Duke is ‘unpredictable and emotionally volatile,’ but Kaulo somehow gets through to him.

"Kaulo is the only person who can say, 'Stop,' and he listens."

According to her, that’s ‘tough love’—and she’s not wrong. If these two stick around, expect plenty more strange power games and emotional landmines.

So, bottom line: Ferguson’s not promising a return, but she’s definitely not shutting the door, either. With the way things ended, and how much the movie leaned into setting her up for more, I’d honestly be surprised if we don’t see Kaulo mixing it up with the Shelbys again. As always, this show loves to leave us hanging.
