After months of radio silence, Reacher spinoff star Maria Sten finally drops an update — the Neagley series is on track for later this year, with Reacher Season 4 expected to land around the same time.

If you’ve spent the past few months wondering if we’d ever hear anything about Amazon’s Reacher spin-off—yes, the one centred on Neagley—it looks like you can finally unclench. Maria Sten, who plays Neagley in the main series, has actually broken her silence. Given how quiet things have been, even a modest update is welcome at this point.

Neagley Spin-off: It’s Actually Happening

So, what did Sten say, exactly? She popped up on Instagram earlier this week, posting a short behind-the-scenes video where someone (possibly her, possibly a stunt double) is hoisted around by a crane. The caption was pretty straightforward:

'I know you guys are asking about #Neagley. We are getting closer, I promise! More info to come. Thank you for your patience... It means so much to us that you are still excited. And I may be biased, but it’s worth the wait, cause we’re taking stuff to a whole new level and it’s KILLER. Know what I mean? ;)'

Translation: They’re not ready to give a release date, but things are definitely moving along. At least that’s something after the months-long radio silence, especially since both the spin-off and Reacher Season 4 are supposed to land later this year.

What Makes Neagley Different?

Here’s where things get interesting, for anyone assuming Neagley would just follow Reacher’s formula with a new face. According to Sten, this spin-off is set to be more personal—a proper look into Neagley’s own life instead of another round of undercover missions and bare-knuckle brawls every week. She put it like this in a previous chat (passing on via Collider): it’s still got the Reacher DNA, but now it’s actually about Neagley—her work, her personal life, the lot. Not just another mystery-of-the-week setup.

Who’s Behind It & Who’s In It?

  • Showrunners: Nicholas Wootton and Nick Santora (Santora ran Reacher, so there’s some continuity at least)
  • Lead: Maria Sten as Neagley
  • Supporting Cast: Greyston Holt, Jasper Jones, Adeline Rudolph, Matthew Del Negro, Damon Herriman

The show itself has been in development since October 2024, and there’s been hardly any concrete info since then—until now.

If you’re one of those waiting for an official premiere date, you’ll have to keep sitting tight. But the general sense is that progress is happening behind the scenes. After all the patience fans have shown, the makers seem determined to give Neagley her own spotlight, rather than just spinning Reacher’s wheels again with a new leading face.
