Reacher Secures Season 5 Renewal Before Season 4 Even Premieres
Jack Reacher is unstoppable: Prime Video renews Reacher for season 5 before season 4 even premieres.
You know that old saying, 'You can't keep a good man down'? Jack Reacher is basically living proof. Prime Video isn’t waiting around for ratings numbers or audience reactions – they've gone ahead and officially renewed Reacher for a fifth season, before season four has even landed.
Reacher’s Getting a Fifth Lap (And Season Four Isn’t Even Out Yet)
The higher-ups at Amazon MGM Studios clearly like what they see in Alan Ritchson’s boulder-sized take on the wandering ex-military cop. Peter Friedlander, who steers the TV ship over there, is understandably thrilled about the series blowing up worldwide. To quote Friedlander:
'The series’ ability to combine high-octane action with compelling character storytelling continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world. We’re excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of Season Four’s debut and to build on this incredible momentum.'
In other words: people love watching Reacher punch bad guys and outsmart murderers, so why slow down now?
What’s Up With Season Four?
There’s not even a release date set for season four yet, but it’s supposed to drop later this year. The plot is scooped up from the 13th Reacher novel, 'Gone Tomorrow.' Here’s the setup: one random encounter with a distressed stranger on a subway train pulls Reacher into a mess involving shady elite villains and – of course – some very bad and powerful people. Classic Reacher chaos.
For the trivia hounds: season four wrapped up filming back in March. The supporting cast is getting a bit of a shakeup, with Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, and Kathleen Robertson all joining the mayhem. Jay Baruchel was supposed to be in too, but had to bail before cameras rolled because of a personal issue. Can’t win ‘em all.
Reacher’s Sidekick Is Getting Her Own Show
Now, here’s where it gets a bit more interesting: the Reacher universe is expanding. There’s a spinoff coming, focused on Frances Neagley – that’s Maria Sten’s character, if you’re not already deep in Reacher lore. Neagley is a private investigator in Chicago, but she’s not just taking photos of cheating spouses; she’s diving into deadly business after one of her old friends is killed under sketchy circumstances. The show description hints she’ll use all the know-how she picked up from her Reacher days (and the 110 Special Investigators unit) to hunt down the truth, no matter how rough things get. Reacher himself is expected to pop in for at least an appearance.
Who’s In, Who’s Out: New Faces & Departures
- Alan Ritchson – back as Jack Reacher
- New season four cast: Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, Kathleen Robertson
- Jay Baruchel – was announced for S4, but left before filming
- Maria Sten starring in the Neagley spinoff
So, to sum up: Reacher isn’t just sticking around – it’s doubling down. If you like watching a brick wall of a man outthink and outfight everyone in the room, you’re not going to run out of episodes anytime soon. And soon, you’ll have a whole new series to binge, too.
