Reacher Season 5 may land sooner than you think, says Alan Ritchson
Alan Ritchson has teased when Reacher will be back for Season 5, sharing the hint in a breezy social media update.
Alan Ritchson himself has popped up to say they've already started filming Season 5 — and that's before we've even got our hands on Season 4, which isn't due out until 12 August 2026.
The new series began filming before Season 4 has even aired.
Reacher Marches On
Ritchson, never one to keep quiet on social media, posted a video on Instagram looking like someone who's seen far too many early call times. He greeted fans with a not-at-all-worried-about-appearances: "Good morning, my little angels. It's time to rise and shine. It's very early where I am, so don't talk about how tired I look. I'm human too. The sun is not even out yet." Pretty clear evidence they've got the jump on the next run.
He calls it "a very special day" and confirms it's "day one of shooting Reacher Season 5. That's right. We are back, baby."
Prime Video is treating this show as one of its crown jewels, and frankly, you can see why. In May 2026, the streamer officially confirmed a fifth season was on the way — yes, even though Season 4 was (and still is) months from streaming. Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, put it in no uncertain terms: Reacher's a "true powerhouse franchise" that's still pulling in an absurdly big worldwide audience.
The action stays punchy, and the character work's a step up from what you'd expect in most streaming action fare.
What's Next?
There's no official word yet on exactly which Lee Child novel forms the basis of Season 5 — so speculation is running wild. Ritchson has said that Season 5's production will drag on most of the year, which all but confirms we're looking at a release sometime in the second half of 2027. That'd put it a year after both Season 4 and the planned spin-off series, Neagley.
