Predictions tip huge stars returning and Margot Robbie in Pirates of the Caribbean 6
With Pirates of the Caribbean 6 reportedly in the works, punters on betting platform Kalshi are staking real cash on huge comebacks — and a headline-grabbing new recruit.
Things are starting to swirl again round Pirates of the Caribbean 6 — and this time, it’s not just the usual rum-soaked rumours. There’s actual money changing hands over which familiar faces might climb aboard for Disney’s next pirate adventure. Yes, people are literally betting on the blooming cast list.
According to Kalshi’s current odds, Orlando Bloom leads the pack with a 29% chance of heading back to sea as William Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean 6.
The fan speculation comes from Kalshi, a real-money predictions platform — which basically means fans are putting their own cash where their wildest hopes are. Right now, the top odds for returning pirates look like this:
- Orlando Bloom — 29% chance of playing Will Turner again
- Keira Knightley — 22% shot at another round as Elizabeth Swann
- Other returning possibilities: Bill Nighy (Davy Jones), Brenton Thwaites (Henry Turner), Geoffrey Rush (Barbossa), Javier Bardem (Salazar), Penélope Cruz (Angelica), Kevin McNally (Gibbs), Kaya Scodelario (Carina Smyth)
- Brand new faces fans are predicting: Margot Robbie, Austin Butler, Ayo Edebiri, Hailee Steinfeld
Now, before anyone sets sail with excitement, let’s be clear — none of these are nailed-on. The only thing official is that Disney haven’t announced a cast, so everything else is just punted guesses (albeit with a smidge of data behind them). Margot Robbie’s name is swirling around because she’s been “in talks” — but nothing locked in yet.
What Disney’s Actually Said
The film itself? Well, Pirates 6 is reportedly still early days in development. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has made some vaguely optimistic noises about it, most recently while chatting to Deadline at the big Disney D23 do.
Bruckheimer told the press they are speaking to Johnny Depp about making a return as Captain Jack Sparrow, but he was quick to hedge his bets. He said they’re working on a screenplay and hoping to get everything sorted soon.
Here’s what Jerry Bruckheimer had to say at the event: "We’re talking with Johnny [Depp]. We’re working on a screenplay, and hopefully we can get this done."
However, according to Deadline's reporting, the next film is supposedly not built around Sparrow this time. They’re apparently eyeing Margot Robbie as the new lead — so Depp’s Jack Sparrow could wind up more of a supporting presence if he boards at all.
