Netflix has finally pinned down when Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen returns, confirming the second season’s exact date in a fresh announcement rather than leaving fans guessing any longer.

Ask anyone to name a director who defines the crime thriller genre and odds are, you’ll get Guy Ritchie at the top of the list. He’s the bloke behind films like RocknRolla and, most recently, the Netflix adaptation of The Gentlemen. The man’s basically set up camp in the gangster underworld and nicked the best real estate.

Now, after a bit of a marathon since series one, we’re only a month out from The Gentlemen Season 2 gracing Netflix with its return. If you’ve had your fill of reruns and you’re desperate to know what the next round of high-stakes dodgy dealings will bring, let’s run through what’s landing — and who you’ll be seeing in the thick of it.

The Gentlemen Season 2 drops all eight episodes on Netflix starting 3 September 2026.

Who's Back and Who's New

For starters, most of the Season 1 regulars are sorted for round two. Your new favourite criminal overlord Eddie Horniman is back, played with just the right smirk by Theo James. Alongside him, Kaya Scodelario reprises her role as Susie Glass — arguably the sharpest mind in the room, which, in a Ritchie production, is saying something. Rounding out the trio, we’ve got Ray Winstone back as old-school boss Bobby Glass.

  • Michele Morrone (off The Housemaid),
  • Hugh Bonneville (doing something miles away from Downton Abbey),
  • Benjamin Clementine (you’ll know him from Dune),

All stepping into the criminal fray and joining the returning lot for a bit of a shakeup. Expect someone to end up in the boot of a car — or worse — before the credits roll.

When Is It Set and Where Are We Away?

If it feels like an age since Season 1 ended, you’d be right. It’s been about two and a half years since we last checked in, but on screen, only a year’s passed in the world of The Gentlemen. We’re picking up with Eddie and Susie, now partners in crime and export — this time as part of Bobby’s international criminal empire. Not much has leaked about specific storylines, because of course, it’s a Guy Ritchie show; you can expect dark humour, violent plot twists, and a few one-liners to stick in your head for weeks.

Renewals, Rumours, and Ritchie’s Trajectory

It’s been quite the stretch watching Guy Ritchie shift his focus back and forth between film and telly, but he’s definitely on a roll with TV. Worth noting, his other crime thriller, MobLand, has just been renewed, so he’s only picking up speed. Still, there’s radio silence on a third run for The Gentlemen. The second series order came through in August 2024, around half a year after the first lot hit Netflix, so if you’re worried, give it a few weeks. The odds are still in your favour while the numbers are good and Ritchie’s schedule isn’t out the window.

All told, it’s taken a while to get round to The Gentlemen Season 2, but the trailers look a treat and the cast is solid. With any luck, the director’s been able to keep his focus in the right place. If you’re a binge sort, best book out a weekend: it’s the whole series at once, just the way Netflix likes to do it.
